"Check out this demo of the Novation Peak onboard effects. I have no need to run my strymons with this because the onboard effects are so fantastic! Check out how the chorus fattens up bass sounds, makes pads lush, and more! Enjoy"

Testing Univox Minikorg CV+Gate Analog Synthesizer Mod

Published on May 11, 2018 gstormelectro

"Audio and Video By G-Storm Electro c.2018

Testing out a Pitch CV + Gate mod for the Univox Minikorg, AKA Korg 700/700S. The arpeggio gets faster and ends up sounding inspired by Pink Floyd On The Run. The circuit one the breadboard is from E-Labs, Japan as shared by Cykong.com. I added a buffer on the gate since the Beatstep Pro trigger did not push enough current to make it happen. Strangely, the gate does work w/ the original MS-20. Beatstep Pro can do Hz/Volt, this setting can be made in the Arturia Midi Control Center software. Recorded direct to Tascam DR-05, no additional processing.

Here's the lowdown:
Synth - Minikorg
Percussion - Basilimus Iteritas Alter
Percussion Trigger - Varigate4
Delay - Timefactor
Reverb - Big Sky, Hall setting"

"Arp Odyssey MKII Model 2813 in Superb Condition!

This is a beautiful, super-clean, all-original vintage ArpOdyssey MK II, 2813.This is an excellent opportunity for a collector, as well as a musician looking for a high quality, powerful musical instrument.
Serial number 0786, produced in 1976.

It has lived in my air conditioned, smoke-free,humidity-controlled studio since 2011. I purchased it in 2011 from the second owner, and it was in great shape. I have kept it in near-perfect condition, and had it serviced by Wine Country Sequential in San Jose, CA:
1. General maintenance, tuning, cleaned key contacts andsliders, repaired high pass filter slider.

2. Rubber key stops replaced.

3. Control panel potentiometers replaced

4. Field effect transistor in the Sample and Hold moduler eplaced

5. Replacement of the tantalum capacitors

Everything works very well, the key action feels terrific, and it sounds amazing. It is cosmetically near-mint, with all original color-coded slider caps (none missing!)."

"Limited-edition design created exclusively for Moogfest 2018.

To celebrate Grandmother’s debut at Moogfest 2018, the first 500 units have been marked with a limited-edition Moogfest 2018 badge and include a custom denim jacket from Moog. Get your Grandmother Moogfest 2018 Edition before they're gone!

Retro looks, cool vibe and a sound that's all Moog. Grandmother is a direct reflection of Moog's modular heritage, where the journey to creating sound is as much fun as the end result. There are no presets, so you'll have to rely on creative exploration and a basic understanding of synthesis to achieve any desired results, but nothing can compare to the joy and satisfaction of creating your own custom sounds. Just like its vintage predecessors, Grandmother's sound engine, modulation engine and onboard spring reverb tank are 100% analog. Want proof? Just give the desk a bump and listen to its springs rattle inside. With Grandmother, what you see is what you get. No menu diving, no recall, nothing to get in the way of you and your sound.

The Grandmother is a semi-modular synth, which means you can start playing it right out of the box without any patching. But if you want to experience the full creative potential of Grandmother, just use any of its 41 patch points to override its internal circuitry and create your own complex signal routing. Choose from 21 inputs, 16 outputs and a parallel-wired 4-jack mult. The options are only limited by your imagination, and with the ability to integrate Grandmother into other modular synths like the Mother-32 or DFAM, or even into larger Eurorack systems, the possibilities are infinite.

Analog Architecture
All the basic building blocks of a modular synth are included in the Grandmother's design, and even some welcomed extras. There are two analog oscillators each with their own selectable waveforms including triangle, sawtooth, square and pulse, with a hard sync button to align them appropriately. The analog LFO is perfect for adding some movement to your sound and with its audio-rate capability, it can act as a third oscillator for bigger, more aggressive sounds. There's also a classic Moog 4-pole 10Hz-20kHz Ladder filter, patchable 1-pole high-pass filter, and an analog ADSR envelope generator ready to sculpt your sound.

Beyond The Basics
The Grandmother would be an excellent machine with only the essentials, but Moog innovates further by adding in an analog hardware spring reverb tank that can add a subtle shine, while taming any harsh frequencies. The reverb tank can also be used to process external sources as a standalone effect. Grandmother also has a built-in arpeggiator that's easy to use and an onboard sequencer that can store up to 3 sequences with up to 256 notes each.

John Bowen Solaris - Analog Imitations 2016 by F5D

"A short track consisting of my custom Solaris patches, most imitating analog synthesizers. Includes also tracks with Waldorf wavetables. Some tracks have additional analog chorus and BBD delay in use + Relab LX480 as reverb. Limiting with Sonnox limiter."

"Some of my custom Solaris programs recorded in mono with and without fx, through modified Toft ATB analog mixer. Musically not very interesting, but to give an idea of how close to an analog synthesizer the fully digital Solaris can sound. Most sounds have been recorded without fx, but after 2:40 I introduce some analog Electro Harmonix guitar pedal fx (commented in the timeline). In the last two sounds I used the Waldorf wavetables and 'Jaws' (JP-80x0 supersaw) waveforms with logic digital stereo delay and Relab LX480 reverb. Some of the sounds utilize the built-in eq of the Solaris, but not the fx."
