Conductive Labs NDLR Launch Party Demo Performance

This was a demo performance I did for Conductive Labs NDLR launch party on November 18th, 2018. Local folks who contributed to the crowdfunding were able to pick up their NDLRs in person, while others will start seeing theirs in the mail these next coming weeks!

My performance was a bit rough due to the Arturia Keystep not behaving. I was using the Keystep for two things: first, to switch between the "Chords" of the NDLR (same as hitting the buttons on the NDLR) but set so that Velocity would change the number of notes the PAD on the NDLR would play (so a light key press would play about 3 or 4 notes, and a hard key press would play 8 notes of the PAD. Also, the modulation strip on the Keystep was used to change the Octave range of the PAD) - and second, to switch over to play additional sounds direct off the Waldorf Blofeld, while the NDLR was Arpeggiating the first four sounds. Considering I put all of this together a couple of hours before the performance, it didn't turn out too bad."

"The release of Fjord’s debut EP Textures in late 2016 saw coverage in popular music media outlets ranging from FADER to NME, and was heavily championed in their home province of Quebec, Canada as they performed on TV and radio shows alike. This exposure lead to an extensive Canadian Tour and multiple Canadian festival dates along the way. Fjord’s song I Get It Now streamed in the top 50 indie songs in Canada on Apple Music in 2017 and the group was positioned as an “artist to watch” by Apple Music, Spotify and Buzzfeed, as well as multiple critical music media. Textures has now been streamed over 15 million times across platforms and their signature vocals can be heard on Felix Cartal’s Get What You Give record, which has been certified Gold in Canada. Fjord’s sophomore EP, Shallow Waters is scheduled for a Fall/Winter 2018 release. A collection of six songs, the music was written and incubated in Quebec City, before the duo flew to London, UK to refine and reproduce the project with the acclaimed producer Tim Bran (London Grammar, Paul McCartney, Bloc Party). The longing and warmth found in isolation bleeds through every note on Shallow Waters, as the band continues to build on the sound that has made them unique.

Chase Bliss Dark World Reverd With A Vintage Roland SH-1000

"Chase Bliss has a new reverb pedal called the Dark World with two reverb sections that can be run in three different routing configurations and that each have three different algorithms. The Dark reverb has Modulation, Shimmer and Black reverbs made by Cooper FX. The World reverb has Spring, Plate and Hall emulations made by Keeley Electronics. All of the sounds generated are coming from the Vintage Roland SH-1000 Synthesizer.
