Increscent gravity of the ages - modular in the cave 5 (eurorack modular synthesizer trance idm jam)

Published on Feb 25, 2019 Modular in the cave

"Little modular jam at Bue Marino Site in Favignana. This side of the island faces the west coast of Sicily, where you can see both Marsala and Trapani, "the scythe of the Mediterranean". The most beautiful, emerald sea in all of Favignana can be seen here, thanks to submarine limestone planes that makes the water shine, creating a strong contrast between the black rocks and the white parts. The spot take its name by the monk seal that inhabitated this part of the island(Bue Marino means sea ox, by the cry of the sea animal similar to the ox cry). The monk seal completely left this place cause of the degrading and disturbing caused by human presence. In the last years some monk seals have been spotted to take rest in submarine caves in the egad islands during the winter. A huge limestone quarry rise behind the shores and through the land, where for thousands of years the stones have been extracted, and then loaded on wooden boats(schifazzi) through the massive rock slide that still stands, making it one of the favourite places for diving. I used Erica synths pico voice and Pittsburgh sv1.2 pico dsp, a black hole dsp, blue lantern sir mixalot, expert sleepers disting mk4 compression algorithm on the master"

Buchla 100 & eurorack system workshops.

"The Modular Synthesizer Ensemble consists of a fixed setup of 12 Modular Synthesizers and a repertoire of compositions written particularly for the ensemble.

The ensemble members are changing from project to project and will be introducing and guided by Gammon to present the musical outcome live as an ensemble. Furthermore the project offers the possibility to relate on the local sociocultural conditions and develop a individual format. The process of sound generation with the analog Modular Synthesizer can be experienced and created by by the participants themselves. Proceeding from the individual sound material we will experiment, invent, try out, improvise, interpret and compose. A simultaneous inventing and performing process of electronic music is emerging, with the aim to interpret compositions and present them live as an ensemble.
The Modular Synthesizer Ensemble enables a similar challenge to experienced musicians, modular enthusiasts or people with no previous knowledge because of its unique musical and social acoustic experience. The focus during this sensual and musical process is listening to each other and a collective ambition.

2x Toraiz AS-1 - ambient Berlin School melodic demo track

Published on Feb 24, 2019 Alba Ecstasy

First: of course it's a Berlin School demo. That's my area of "expertise"!

Second: don't mind the "frying potatoes" noise when gain exceed the maximum admitted by my Neunaber Slate.

Third: no, they're not both #ToraizAS1 mine, only the #ambient pad playing one! It just wouldn't make sense that at &1000 to have ⅓ of a #Prophet6.
FUN FACT: these two Toraiz are siblings, even they're purchased months apart (my friend bought it first, last year!)

Fourth: ...I forgot...

Effects: Neunaber Slate for the Toraiz playing the ambient pads (and because of that distortion I added H-Delay Waves to sugar coat the mess). Boss Rv6 & Dd-7 for the Toraiz playing the sequence.

Enjoy!

ZOOM ARQ96, EX5, Yamaha AN200, Reface DX patch challenge: marimba, orchestral stab & smooth brass

Published on Feb 25, 2019 Floyd Steinberg

"Here's my entry to the latest 'classic synth patches challenge'. The challenge requires the use of certain classic synth sounds to create a new track (this time: Marimba, an 80s orchestral blast, and the 'smooth brass' sound found in songs by Toto and other 80s acts). The ZOOM ARQ96 is sequencing, playing drums&bass. Reface DX does the marimba sound. Yamaha AN200 does the soft brass / arpegiator stuff. PEAK plays the high-pitched arpeggiated notes and the EX5 does that lead whistle thing."
