"Subvert is a savage 3-channel distortion processor designed to decimate the frequency spectrum.
Based around 5 effects; multimode distortion, FM ring modulator, digitizer, metalizer and multimode filter, Subvert generates anything from subtle harmonics to relentlessly brutal distortions. Offering three parallel channels of each effects chain as well as a wealth of modulation and routing options, Subvert is our take on signal decimation with a twist.
Subvert’s multi-channel layout and per-effect bypass option make it possible to reconfigure the order of effects in each chain in a variety of creative ways. Between the unconventional routing options, 15 effects processors, global EQ, numerous modulation options and global randomizer, Subvert makes it possible to achieve mind-bending destructive effects.
While Subvert’s primary focus is on Distortion, it features four additional effects that can be configured in various ways across its three channels. Driving its core are 2 envelope followers and 4 LFOs with various wave shapes and optional tempo sync, which can have their output inverted or combined using up to 4 modulation mixers. The final output of the plugin can be sculpted with the global 3-band EQ.
With a multi-mode filter as the first processor in each chain, it is possible to set up multi-band effects patches where each channel is processing a different frequency range of the incoming signal. De-activating effects within a chain allows you to globally reconfigure the order of the processors, thereby giving you many options in setting up an assortment of parallel and serial processing patches.

COMPOSE | DECOMPOSE Conversation: Eleanor Annand + Make Noise Featuring Synthesizer for Two Coasts
via Penland Gallery
Mixed-media sculpture and sound installations
March 26 – May 12, 2019
Reception: Saturday March 30, 4:40-6:30PM | Make Noise modular synthesizer performances by Walker Farrell, Meg Mulhearn, and Jake Pugh
"For Compose | Decompose, the fourth installment in the Penland Gallery’s Conversation series, Annand proposed showing her work alongside the instruments and music of Make Noise. Their conversation is about exploration within defined systems. Annand makes modular sculptural elements from cardboard and cast paper; Make Noise makes modular systems for electronic music composition. In both cases modularity is not about creating predictability, it’s about providing a framework in which to cast expression and, sometimes, disruption. In works like Entropic, Annand avoids the purity of mathematical tessellations. She opts to create arrangements that contain disorder, making them analogous to human lives in their unpredictability and the possibility of playfulness within constrained systems. Make Noise takes this concept further with Synthesizer for Two Coasts, a conceptual instrument that only plays Bach’s Invention No. 4 in D minor. However, even within this narrow scope the user can find expression by manipulating timbre and injecting random notes into the music. Their systems are not designed for traditional composition, but for the 'discovery of unfound sound.'"Check out MAKE NOISE's Synthesizer for Two Coasts here.
Ever since I became an inhumanoid - modular in the cave 9 (eurorack modular synthesizer jam outdoor)
Published on Mar 25, 2019 Modular in the cave
"A little jam on the Falconiera fortress in Ustica. The fortress stands on the walls of the remaining part of the Falconiera volcano. It´s composed by two part. Half of the fortress is a natural ancient 3rd century b.c. roman settlement, with many rain tanks and storage points carved in volcanic rock. The other half is an artificial building, created in 1763 by the Borboni as a watch point against the pirates attacks ,as it has full view in every direction around the island. Originally armed with 4 cannons in the year 1780, it served as a shelter for the population in case of pirates attacks. the only cannon remaining has been found at sea in 1956, in the now named Cala Cannone after it."
