California 24 and I-980: The East Bay's Most Scenic Freeway

video upload by CatSynth TV

"We take a ride along one of the Bay Area's most scenic freeways, California Highway 24. Branching off from I-680 in Walnut Creek, it heads west through a verdant landscape of hills and small towns. It crosses the Berkeley/Oakland hills through the Caldecott Tunnel and then emerges into Oakland with views of the East Bay and even San Francisco.

Passing Interstate 580, California 24 transitions to Interstate 980 through downtown Oakland, ending at Interstate 880 which continues through the city's southwestern industrial area and onward towards San Jose.

The Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system runs along the median of CA 24 for much of length, both in the eastern section and in Oakland.

The Great Highway, San Francisco (with original soundtrack)

video upload by CatSynth TV

"We travel one of San Francisco's most controversial thoroughfares, the Great Highway. The Great Highway runs for 3.5 miles along the western edge of the city, next to Ocean Beach and the Pacific Ocean. Our journey joins the Great Highway at its intersection with Lincoln Way, at the southwestern corner of Golden Gate Park. We then travel southward to Sloat Boulevard and continue along the Great Highway Extension to Skyline Boulevard and Lake Merced.

The Great Highway was closed to motor vehicles in 2020 during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic, but remained open to pedestrians and bicyclists. It has also periodically closed due to flooding and sand accumulating on the roadmap. Since the middle of 2021, it has operated in a hybrid mode, with the road open to motor vehicles Monday afternoon through Friday morning, and then closed on weekend from Friday afternoon to mid-day on Monday, as well as on holidays. The Great Highway Extension south of Sloat Boulevard is scheduled to close to traffic permanently in 2023.

Original electronic music by Amanda Chaudhary, featuring sounds from Ellott Sharp's Invented Instruments sample pack. This forms both the percussive pattern throughout the video as well as a section of samples played through the Arturia CMI V. Addition synthesizers and effects include:
Cherry Audio GX-80
Strymon Starlab module
East West Ra library (tablas)
MOK Fitryg
Arturia Delay Tape-201

Details via MOK:

VOYAGE TO NEW SONIC FRONTIERS

Miniraze is a powerful yet approachable wave-slicing virtual synth that offers you sounds for the future, inspired by the past. Featuring MOK's patented wave-slicing engine, Miniraze gives you the ability to splice waveforms into utterly unique sounds you won't hear anywhere else, while the straightforward East Coast-style layout makes it easy to craft complex tones quickly. Create anything from warm, retro analog vibes to aggressive, futuristic sounds that have literally never been heard before.

SLICE AND DICE YOUR SOUND

Under the hood, Miniraze uses a streamlined version of the patented wave-slicing oscillator technology pioneered by MOK's Waverazor virtual synth and Waverazor Dual Oscillator Eurorack module. Combine more than 100 classic, modern and random waveforms to create brand-new sounds that you literally won't hear anywhere else.

EASY TO PROGRAM

A straightforward layout inspired by legendary East Coast analog synths makes it fast and fun to program complex sounds. Dedicated oscillator, mixer and modulation sections make Miniraze easy to navigate, so you can find any parameter you need at a glance and focus on making sounds.

MODULATE AWAY

Miniraze provides multiple modulation matrices for unlimited versatility. Each of the four LFOs can be routed to eight parameters, each envelope can be routed to four, and an additional matrix lets you link four more sources and destinations. Add adjustable scaling for velocity, mod wheel, aftertouch and more, and you've got a universe of possibilities at your fingertips.

ARPEGGIATION STATION

A built-in arpeggiator with 52 settings instantly creates hypnotizing rhythmic patterns from your chords. Set the tempo internally or sync it to your session, select the beat division, then choose from Up, Down, Up+Down, Forward, Reverse, Forward+Reverse and Random patterns to add motion to your patches.

CUSTOMIZE YOUR VIBE

We want everyone to feel at home using Miniraze. Translate the UI into one of 34 languages, including Klingon, Old Norse and Egyptian hieroglyphs. Choose between 18 themes, from striking high-contrast colors to subdued hues that are easy on the eyes and even special color schemes that provide accessibility for users with color blindness.

Interplanetary Revolution (Межпланетная революция) - Synthesizer soundtrack for Soviet animated film

video by CatSynth TV

"Original retro-style synthesizer soundtrack on a segment of "Interplanetary Revolution" a surreal Soviet animated short released in 1924. Specifically, we use the segment from about 3:30 to the end of the film.

MOK Introduces Filtryg Professional Dual Filter Effect

MOK Filtryg Introduction

"MOK is excited to introduce Filtryg, a professional dual filter effect with deep sound sculpting features to aid in mixing, or add new dimensions in rhythm and timbre to recorded tracks. The integrated envelope follower, wide range LFOs, and MIDI keyboard tracking, each react to your playing as well as your source audio, forming an inspired filter effect that becomes a part of your performance.

The Filtryg dual filter effect plugin offers three filter types with a 12 dB State Variable Filter running in series or parallel with a choice of either 24 dB Ladder, or multiple modes of Biquad, each with their own personality and character. The State Variable Filter is continuously morph-able from Lowpass to Highpass filter modes, with either Bandpass or Notch in-between, while the Ladder and Biquad have a Drive control for extra punch and crunch on the output.

Filtryg’s visually striking interface offers a knob-based control surface, familiar to synthesists and effects users alike. The audio path, modulation routes, and their respective controls are all plainly visible and understandable from the front panel, enabling intuitive and speedy effect construction. It is possible to set up the harmonic-rich sound of audio rate filter FM, including assignable keyboard tracking, in just a few seconds. Finally, all of Filtryg’s parameters are available to automate from the plugin host.

Filtryg is compatible with AAX, AU and VST on Mac, PC and Linux, and is available now at MOK.com.

Features:

- Dual filter configuration in Series, Parallel or Mixed for flexible timbral shaping

- 12 dB State Variable Filter (LP, HP, BP, N), 24 dB Ladder Filter (LP, HP), and multiple Biquad Filter choices, each with distinct personality and character

- Morph knob morphs between State Variable Filter modes for dynamic filter variation

- Drive knob adds punch and crunch to the Ladder and Biquad Filter output

- Audio rate Filter FM enables unusual harmonic generation capabilities

- Keytrack modulation control for integrating keyboard performance

- Envelope Follower for direct interaction with input audio and sidechain pumping effects

- Tempo synchronized LFOs and threshold triggered Envelopes for rhythmic modulations

- Customizable color themes and language settings"
