like sound AE Modular -Tangible Waves VCO with filter WASP vs filter NYLE (Steiner type) sound demo
Published on Apr 4, 2019 Dziam Bass
"I have a small video showing how sound AE Modular VCO with WASP filter vs NYLE filter (Steiner type).
This probably will answer the questions whether AE Modular sounds weak or you can now decide yourself if this whore answers you, many people ask this question because the whole system is cheap but there is no exact flight through the oscillator, which creates ignorance by comparison to other synthesizers on market.
this demo should picture the very sound of the oscillator with the Wasp filter and the Nyle filter, both add a different character, both have different resonance heights and give a completely different feel to one VCO.
the waves used in the film are SAW and SQUARE both at once and the addition of PWM zero other effects of zero processing only AE Modular sound."

Silent Way for VCV Rack
Published on Apr 4, 2019 Expert Sleepers
"Silent Way for VCV Rack is a set of modules for integrating hardware synths with Rack's virtual world.
It is mostly a Rack port of key elements of the Silent Way VST/AU/AAX plug-in suite. As such any discussion, tutorials, videos etc. you might find about Silent Way generally applies to the Rack version as well."

"Thinking out of the box is part of what the Rob Papen brand ethos is, however, we do not want to lose the fact that plugins should be there for creating music. Well, here we present RP-Reverse which is an FX plugin for the creative minded artist that loves to add different sonic ingredients into their tracks!
RP-Reverse reverses the incoming audio in a creative way, the resulting audio can be tempo synced to make it easily fit the reversed sound right into your track. With RP-Reverse it is possible to trigger the recording of the audio (which is reversed) in various ways to which you can read about further on in the manual.
In true Rob Papen style, it’s not just about the main feature! On the reversed signal you can also add distortion, two analog modeled Filters or a Comb Filter.
On top of this, you will also find a handy LFO to modulate the reversed audio and the Filters.
Whilst using RP-Reverse in the creative process we kept in mind that you might like to fade in/out the reversed sound or use a mute button. The top section, therefore, has a separate volume dial for the reversed audio and a separate mute button to make it easy to automate these functions in your music host program.
RP-Reverse is a cool plugin to be used on your drum-loops, vocals or instruments, and for adding ‘thinking out of the box’ type FX to your tracks!"
Beat Culture & the SP-404 with Dibia$e, Flying Lotus and Ras G
Published on Apr 3, 2019 RolandChannel
"In the early 2000’s, Los Angeles cultivated an underground hip-hop beat culture, where every budding producer were on the same wavelength, experimenting like mad scientists in laboratories, and producing their next instrumental masterpieces.
A community formed around these artists who crafted a lo-fi, gritty sound that warbled and hissed like worn cassette tapes and vinyl. Glitched effects, samples and loops—driven along by a minimal kick/snare/hat groove—were created and performed on the Roland SP-404 Sampler.
This video shares memories from Dibia$e, Flying Lotus and Ras G but barely scratches the surface of a scene that grew from the roots of Project Blowed, Sketchbook, Boombox and Low End Theory. Now, from dedicated YouTube channels to SP-based Beat Maker showcases to loyal online communities, this underground beat culture from L.A has now found a global home.
On April 4, #404DAY, we celebrate every producer—from the lo-fi pioneers to the aspiring beat maker—that has chosen a Roland SP sampler to be your instrument and voice."

4ms Spherical Wavetable Details & Pics
You can find demos of the 4ms Spherical Wavetable eurorack module in the archives here.
Priced at $599.00
"The Spherical Wavetable Navigator (SWN) is a six-channel synthesizer that makes it easy to create slowly morphing drones, polyphonic melodies, evolving sequences, and rich textures. The SWN features six wavetable oscillators with independent pitch, level, and waveform controls. Six LFOs (Low Frequency Oscillators) can be used as modulation sources and/or envelopes, making it easy to add dynamic motion to your patch. Each channel is a full voice and can be “played” using the top row of buttons, the internal LFOs, or note-change detection on the 1V/oct jacks. The SWN ships with 12 three-dimensional (spherical) wavetables and an easy interface which allows you to record and edit custom wavetables from live audio. Open-source software for Mac, Windows, and Linux called SphereEdit can be freely downloaded and allows you computer to create, edit, and convert .wav files into Spherical wavetables to transfer into the SWN with an audio cable.Six VCOs (Voltage Controlled Oscillators), each with independent 1V/oct pitch CV and waveform selection.
Twelve spherical wavetables, plus space for up 108 user-created wavetables.
Quickly record, apply effects, and save your own custom wavetables from live audio (or by using free SphereEdit software on a computer).
Six LFOs/envelopes, each with its own output jack and controls for speed, amplitude, phase, and shape.

"For your consideration is a beautiful Steiner Parker Synthacon. The Synthacon has been recently serviced, and also has brand new keyboard bushings. If you're looking at this then you probably know that the Synthacon has an extremely flexible modulation architecture and amazing sound due to it's three oscillators and unique filter which does not cut out the low end on high resonance settings. You probably also know that these rarely come up for sale."
