Synth Quartet in B Minor "Nelly"
Published on Apr 8, 2019
"A synth quartet in B minor called 'Nelly' featuring the Moog Grandmother ('Violin 1'), Korg MS-20 ('Violin 2'), ARP Odyssey ('Viola') and Sequential Pro One ('Cello').
The piece started off as a vocal line, then a 5 part chorale and finally turned into a string quartet. I don't have access to a string instruments so I decided to record it with synths instead.
The synths were tracked via MIDI/CV but I recorded a 'performance' of real time modulation by tweaking various parameters. I mainly tweaked the filter cutoff but also adjusted vibrato and envelope shapes to match the dynamics of the piece.
The Odyssey was quite pitchy and had trouble staying in tune across a large range, so I had to adjust the pitch slightly in post."
The Fairlight CMI Project Part 1

"As promised, this year I am going to try adding some new types of content. I hope this one will be of interest to people. I have been playing with the idea of creating a full album composed mostly on the Fairlight CMI including original factory sounds. I have kept this clip to the normal 5 minutes but I'm happy to extend this out up to 20 minutes per episode if people are interested enough.
Thanks must go to Peter Wielk from Horizontal Productions not only for keeping my Fairlight alive but also for the Album and current Thumbnail art work"

Roland Jupiter 6 and Jupiter 8 - Comparing Similar Patches
Published on Apr 7, 2019 inside synthesis
"I had a couple hours to compare a Jupiter 6 and a Jupiter 8. I didn't have enough time to dial in the sounds as closely as I would have liked, and since the monitor in the studio was closer to the Jupiter 6, I inadvertently made the 8 a bit brighter than it should have been.
But I think it does show some of the tone difference between the two."

"PHYSICAL CONDITION: Excellent - Very clean throughout with only light signs of use upon close inspection. This synth was very well taken care of and will be the perfect match for those who like their gear near immaculate!
WORKING CONDITION: Excellent - All parameters and audio I/O are functioning perfectly and it sounds stellar. All 58 encoders were upgraded on 03.19 specifically for this listing so the new owner will have many years of 'Like New' performance from this machine."

1. SSF Quantum Rainbow 2 1/3: Colors of Noise (LMS EE)
The SSF Quantum Rainbow 2 is a popular Eurorack noise source. In this first movie, I demonstrate its different colors of noise, plus a patch tip for boosting its level:2. SSF Quantum Rainbow 2 2/3: Using in a Synth Voice (LMS EE)
00:00 overview
00:16 boosting output level
00:53 white noise
01:11 pink noise
01:31 red noise
01:49 grey noise
02:15 blue noise
