Strng (iOS String Synthesis) AUv3 Plugin

Published on May 4, 2019 humbletune

"Strng is a string synthesiser inspired by the karplus-strong algorithm. The physical modelling starts with a short burst of noise that then guided by a tuned delay buffer and string tension filter, generates plucked string like sounds. No samples are used.

Now it can also run as a AUv3 plugin in your favourite host, as well as run stand alone supporting Inter App Audio and AudioBus."

The UI reminds me of the Teenage Engineering OP-1 Strng was released back in 2015.

Behringer VC340 Vocoder USER REVIEW Synthesizer

Published on May 4, 2019 gstormelectro

"Audio and Video by G-Storm Electro c. 2019

Today I am giving a user review of the new Behringer VC340.
The VC340 is billed as a complete reproduction of the Roland VP-330 all-analog circuitry.
I have some experience having owned an original VP-330 MK1.
And previously reviewed the Roland Boutique VP-03 [posted here] which had an Achilles heel IMHO.
How does the VC340 measure up?

Bitty - Pocket-sized Drum Machine and Synthesizer by Curious Sound Objects

Published on Apr 30, 2019 Curious Sound Objects

Currently on Kickstarter

via Arduino.cc

"There are a wide variety of ways to create electronic music. For a capable machine that fits in the palm of your hand and is loud enough to use outdoors, however, it’s hard to imagine a battery-powered device cooler than Bitty from Curious Sound Objects.

The pocket-sized drum machine and synthesizer, currently on Kickstarter, was prototyped using an Arduino Nano and will be fully Arduino-compatible when released. This means that in addition to changing the sound and interface around with readily-available sound packs—which include Theremin Bitty, Techno Bitty, Basement Bitty, Trap Bitty, Lofi Bitty, and Beach Bitty—it can be programmed with the Arduino IDE. The device can even run sound software written for other Arduino boards.

Bitty features four sample trigger buttons, a pair of knobs, and a speaker. Designed for entry-level EDM enthusiasts and studio musicians alike, you can play the drums and melodies manually, as well as trigger patterns to produce dance music or hip hop beats. These can be chosen via the left knob, while the right knob handles pitch, note selection, and arpeggiation."

Grapevine [Episode 137]

Published on May 3, 2019 CatSynth TV

"Time-lapse video driving north from Los Angeles, starting on I-405 north of the Getty Center, merging onto I-5, and continuing north through the Santa Clarita Valley and onto The Grapevine through the Tehachapi Mountains and Tejon Pass. The video ends with the descent into California's Central Valley at the split of I-5 and CA 99.

The music is "Xi" by Amanda Chaudhary, off of her album Aquatic. It was recorded in 2003 using an E-MU Proteus 2000 module with Vintage Pro, Mo'Phatt, and Beat Garden ROMs. There is also acoustic udu drum in the recording.
