"Rare German bass synth in excellent cosmetic condition and superb working order...

The bass guitar voice sounds brilliant – just the right amount of bite – as near as a 70s analogue synth might get to a Fender Bass through an Ampeg B15N?

The Wersi AP-6 Baß (Bass) Synth is a fine little monophonic analogue synthesizer; testament to German design and attention to detail, it’s very expressive, sounds wonderful and plays beautifully. There are plenty of modulation and expression options and it’s very easy to conjure up a wide range of warm rich analogue synth sounds."

Lush triple filter & new triple VCO from Patching Panda // Superbooth 2019

Published on May 24, 2019 DivKidVideo

"The new Vibrazum from Patching Panda is a lush triple filter with 2 filters that can be low pass or band pass and a band pass filter in the middle. You can modulate the filters in unison or with individual cut off control, resonance etc and the input has a nice amount of drive to it too. Really lovely triple peak filter sound. Holograms in the new triple analogue VCO based around the idea of a single carrier and two modulators. Like the filter there's ways to control these collectively or individual and lots of modulation potential."

KORG VOLCA MODULAR // Patch 2 // P3 II

Published on May 24, 2019 LESINDES

"KORG VOLCA MODULAR // Patch 2 // P3 II.
Wiring should be quite clear by the video.

I returned this synthesizer recently -- and that's why:

The MODULAR is a synthesizer with a potential but also with a lot of NOs, unfortunately. I really like the idea of it but it has:

1. unlike all the other Volcas NO Midi input
2. NO seperate gate input -- combined CV/Gate in so special stereo mini jack to 2 mono mini jacks cable needed
3. LPG is very low, only half as loud as LPG1, or my Volca is broken?!
4. Gate or CV output of keyboard and sequencer only in these fiddle sockets.
5. Cables with the soft easily bendable ends feel and are very fiddly. The raw cable ends slide easily out of the sockets even though you only gently touch the cables!
6. The black pot underbeath in front of both Cutoff pots should be the control voltage patched in sockets A + B but even if it is turned fully conterclockwise (= minimum) there is still CV being let out. I don't know if there is a work around for that or if my MODULAR is part of faulty batch??!

From min. 5 - 8 it is clock input is patched as source by mistake but there is still a lot of entertaining tweaking ;-)"

Hydronium, Part 3: Acid all the Synths!

Published on May 24, 2019 Olivier Ozoux

"The Rare Wave Hydronium can turn every other modular or semi-modular synths into Acid synths, thanks to a CV output that contains the legato glide information, so it doesn't matter if your synth can't do it, because the Hydronium will legato glide in its place.

I have four different semi-modular synths, that I'm turning into acid synths. The Behringer Model D, Plankton Electronics Ants, Dreadbox NYX, and MakeNoise 0-Coast, and as bonus, the Rare Waves Hydronium by itself. The portable Deluge does sequencer duties and makes all the other noises."

HOW TO GENETIC SCISSOR WITH GLUE + DNA! Future Sound Systems // Superbooth 2019

Published on May 24, 2019 DivKidVideo

"Genetics influences oscillators? Analogue synth glue? DNA modulation? The new Recombination Engine from Future Sound Systems is a triple analogue oscillator that flips out the positive and negative portions of waves to impose other oscillators bringing into sync, rectification and tonnes of other 'sonic FX' to the sound. The 3 oscillators working together sounding like analogue vocal synthesis almost like a model of VOSM, super impressive.

There's also the Cyclical Engine we saw last year which has now had a four quadrant multiplier option so you can either AM or Ring Modulate each waveform individually, super sonic sculpting to come with that I'm sure.

FSS are also developing a new high end linear power solution and desk pin matrix devices for studio gear, guitar/pedals and more."

Flesh resistance & skin modulation with the Landscape HC-TT & Stereo Field // Superbooth 2019

Published on May 24, 2019 DivKidVideo

"Having played around with and used the all flesh human capacitance pads in my Eurorack system for a while it was great to get chance to chat to Landscape about the new version of their HT-CC human controlled cassette tape manipulation and CV controller as well as hearing their Stereo Field create interference like noise and more. Both devices really warrant consideration and experimentation with audio in both the creation of sound and manipulation of it. Using your skin as resistors and capacitors makes you part of the circuit. Almost a human circuit bend if you will. I hope I can check these out in more detail in the future."
