The two valleys are separated by the Panamint Range. Two days after this watery scene was filled, the area was bone dry with dust storms.

Korg Volca Sample: Turning a kick drum into a synthesizer

Published on Jun 3, 2019 Evader Music

"A quick song made from a single kick drum.

Spent the last week learning to use this little machine effectively. Though it’s primary use is for sample playback as a drum machine, it works surprisingly well as a melody sequencer.

All sounds heard in this are a kick drum sample, looped fast enough by shortening the sample length during playback to become a makeshift wave-table oscillator. With motion sequence turned on, holding both the Volca function button and the note in sequence gives the option to select a pitch in semitones with the sample speed dial.

Program your sequence, layer with 9 other samples, save up to 10 different versions of your sequence, send it through some external effects, and you’ve got a fully capable song writing sequencer/synthesizer!"
