6X806 Drum Synth App for IOS next update demo

Published on Jul 23, 2019 BEATS N BOBS

"Here is a quick demo of the features for the new update (JULY 2019)

**** Big update with lots of new great useful features!****

*. Added parameter set for almost all knobs per step (manually or while sequence is playing)

Press P-Set to enable (flashing) Double tap P-Set to enter erase mode. Turning any dial will either set / lock that parameter to the currently selected or playing step on current track; or erase all parameter sets to all steps on current track. Colour of dial ring will be red when there is an active parameter on current step. You can clear all parameter sets for all active dials on the whole sequence using CLR params (in Edit Sequence).

*. Added 3 bars for total of 4 bars and 64 steps per track . The bar the track is currently playing within will be shown across the top row step LEDs. Choosing Bar 1-4 in Edit Step area, selects which bar to enter steps into.

*. Modified and reduced the gate time so if Gate mode on VCA is enabled, it's shorter and more noticeable for really short pulses of sounds.

*. iPad UI mode. If using iPad, you can choose to either use the new UI layout that removes sub menus and allows you to access more knobs at the same time for more hands-on control.

*. Changed Expand function so that it automatically extends length of track to 64 steps. This makes it easier to convert 4/16/32 steps to repeat to the rest of the bars so you can make subtle changes to the other bars, making your beats less repetitive. Example usage will be to make a 16 step beat, press Expand, select bars to edit beats.

*. Added a Beat click slaved to track 1. When ever a step is played on track 1, you can also have an extra drum attack to boost the overall drum impact. Just press the "Beat on 1" button

*. Updated AudioBus SDK to latest version.

*. Updated Ableton Link to latest version including new slave start/stop.

*. Updated step buttons to move away from the 909 look and more of a stylish 808 look.

*. Updated the look, hopefully you will agree its much nicer.

*. Updated core code.

*. Minor improvement to BPM when not using Link. Its still preferable to enable Link even if not syncing to other apps."

Fraser T Smith on the Korg prologue

Published on Jul 23, 2019 Korg

"We recently caught up with award winning producer Fraser T Smith at his London studio, where we talked KORG prologue and his current projects. Fraser recently co-produced South London rapper Dave’s UK Number 1 album Psychodrama, described by The Guardian as “the boldest and best British rap album in a generation”. Fraser explains how prologue was integrated into his work-flow and how prominent it was in that production. Smith is no stranger to producing a successful album and has co-written, produced and mixed seven number one singles and contributed to sixteen number one albums in the UK and US. Some of the singles he collaborated on include Adele's "Set Fire to the Rain", James Morrison's "Broken Strings", Tinchy Stryder's "Number 1" and Taio Cruz's "Break Your Heart". Smith also teamed up with Stormzy to produce his acclaimed debut number 1 album "Gang Signs & Prayer", which won best album at the 2018 Brit Awards. Earlier that year he'd produced 7 tracks on Kano's celebrated Made in the Manor album."

Drum Button, Eurorack Percussion Sequencer Demo

Published on Jul 22, 2019 Reckless Experimentation Audio LLC

"Introducing the the Drum Button Eurorack module by Reckless Experimentation Audio. It is an eight channel sequencer for triggering percussion sound modules, and to provide a clock source for other synth voices. Includes tempo control, fill and hold functions, and eight independent sequence banks."

via Reckless Experimentation Audio

"The Drum Button is an eight channel sequencer for triggering percussion sound modules, and to provide a clock source for other synth voices.

Pressing the arcade style button triggers an output on the selected channel, and adds that trigger to the sequence for that channel. With 16 lights you might think the sequence is only 16 steps long, it is actually 256 steps, so if you think of each light as a hole note, the sequence is actually quantized to the 16th note

The currently active channel is selected with the left Potentiometer, when the Potentiometer is turned, the lights will momentary change form displaying the position in the sequence to displaying the current channel.

Tempo is control by the middle Potentiometer, this Potentiometer along with the speed input, control how fast the sequence plays. By rotating this Potentiometer all the way counter clockwise, the sequence can be halted.

The Potentiometer on the right is the bank selection Potentiometer. The banks is displayed on the lights similar to the channel selection, with the lights temporally displaying the currently selected bank, before going back to displaying the sequence position.

Banks are independent sequences for all eight channels, on power up, banks 1 though 4 are empty, banks 5 though 8 have preset sequences to get started with. These preset sequences can be added to or cleared just like the empty banks.

Which brings us to the clear button, this button clears all triggers on the currently selected channel on the currently selected bank. By pressing and holding the clear button and pressing the fill button, all the triggers on the currently selected bank are erased.

The hold button stops the sequence form advancing as long is it is depressed. The clock output from the Tempo Out connection continues during a hold. Tempo Out produces 64 pulses per sequence cycle.

The fill button overrides the sequence on the currently selected channel, and outputs a trigger on that channel every quarter note. The fill isn’t added to the sequence, and the sequence resumes normally once the button is released."

Roland MJX-70 ?

This one is in via @deejayiwan

Photoshopped JX-8P?  Looks like someone grabbed the Retroactive MPG-70 logo.

Update via the comments:

"It is real and one of a kind, I know, I built it myself. That photo was a test photo for the 3d printed keys. The end result has blue keys.
It is a JX8p redressed to match the MPG70 and MKS70. (and other roland gear in that style).
If you watch my video (link below) from some time back you can see it at 2:35. :)
