Delay and reverb added (TC Electronics D-TWO and Lexicon PCM 80 'Deep space' preset)
Recorded with a Tascam DA-3000 high-end digital recorder"

Chinese Detectives [Cover] Behringer PRO-1 / Roland MC-101 / Roland JU-06A

Published on Nov 17, 2019 Micro Banshee

"A Behringer Pro-1 & Roland MC -101 Version of Yazoo's 'Chinese Detectives'

I can't find a lot of information about this little known Yazoo track other than I remember it being played when I went to see Yazoo live in 1982 [Newcastle City Hall] During the track being played Vince was playing around with a video camera filming audience members and displaying the footage on a large screen above the stage.

I did find the following reference from an online Yazoo fan site:

'This song was only refered to as China and it eventually became I Before E Except After C, stripped back to the drumtrack...'

As far as I know this track was never officially released.

As always, the track is played 'live' in one take - with no DAW, editing or post production.

Recorded live 16/11/2019.

Also Used:
Arturia keystep [PRO-1]
Roland Boutique JU-06A
Roland Aira TR-8
Zoom MS-70CDR"

Enter Exit - TR-808, Oberheim OB-8, Juno 60, Microwave Rev A, TTSH sequenced by a Cirklon

"It's quite a while since my last video so I wanted to make an awesome return with ninjas, mannequins, trampolines and Lamborghinis. That did not work out.

And because I didn't work out either, wearing the tracksuit was not an option.
Instead you can see me noodling with some nice vintage synths. A triumph against perfection and crippling procrastination!

Synthesizers in this track: Oberheim OB-8, Roland Juno 60, Yamaha DX7, Waldorf Microwave, a Two Thousand Six Hundred. All sequenced by a Sequentix Cirklon. Drums from the Roland TR 808 and the tape delay is a Roland Space Echo RE-101.

Also check out my last album *Dinosaur Ballads* on http://www.solitud.de or the usual streaming sites."

Opal | Novation Summit Ambient

Published on Nov 16, 2019 r beny

"Another piece with the Novation Summit. This time using Squarp Hermod (in the background) to sequence one of the multi-patches, while I play/improvise under it.

I believe some of my Summit multi-patches are included amongst the factory patches on the synth (which I heard is shipping now), but they are also up on the components site.

Slowly getting my new studio up and running."

This is the first post to feature an SZ-1 in the flesh. The only other post on the site to feature an SZ-1 is this one featuring a German ad.

Update via Florian in the comments: "The description says 'The unit powers up using batteries but is stuck in the Tempo function. No other buttons work.'. If you look at the rear panel picture, you see, that the clock switch is set to "ext". So this thing works assumingly."

Technics SX-K200 keyboard demo - "Motion Capture"

Published on Nov 16, 2019 Alfonse

"Technics SX-K200 keyboard (1982)

All sounds you hear in the track were made using the SX-K200; some were run through a Boss DD7 delay pedal. All parts were recorded to a DAW, where compression, EQ, and reverb were added as required. I also quadruple-tracked the lead synth melody (with two layers of "Cosmic Wah" an octave apart and two layers of "Brass" at the lower octave, which I detuned slightly in the DAW to give it a fatter sound). Individual drum hits were sampled from slowed-down rhythms and processed to allow a fresh kick and snare pattern to be built, although the basis of the groove was the "Disco" rhythm on the keyboard (with a high-pass filter applied so that the hi-hats are mainly all you hear).

The aim of these videos is to see what you can create using sounds from ageing home keyboards together with current production tools. The SX-K200 was an evolution of Technics' electronic organs, which they had been building and developing since the '60s; its sounds are split into 8 "orchestral" polyphonic presets and 6 "solo" monophonic voices, with nods to various staple synth sounds of the era. There is also a great stereo chorus effect that can be applied to the orchestral sounds.
