Shakmat releases the Gemini's Path
Uploaded on Nov 21, 2019 Shakmat Modular
A compact and creative tool for dynamics and stereo duties
The Gemini's Path is the 9th module released by Shakmat. This newcomer is a hybrid analog/digital stereo sound processing device which can shapeshift into an expander, compressor, auto panner & much more!
3 modules in 1
The Gemini's Path, despite its small size, is actually a mix of three modules : a pair of VCAs (That Corp branded for low distorsion & low noise) driven by a dual modulation source, that is excited by the trigger detector which extracts triggers from the input signals or an external / side chain input.
What it does
Since the modulation source delivers different types of modulation, the Gemini's Path offers lots of different application possibilities, such as:
• Expander: with decay or hold control
• Pump: compressor like device with adjustable release time (also with a unique release shape)
• Panner: sine panner, random panner or triggered panner
• Granuliser: chops the signal into small bits & spread them in the stereo field
• VCAs: stereo VCAs with volume and panning control.
Or two independent VCAs
Simple and intuitive interface
Our main goal was to create a compact, polyvalent and easy peasy to use module. Besides its capabilities, the module has a minimal user interface and gives instant results in all its applications : choose a mode, set the threshold and have fun with the two big knobs. And of course, bring the Gemini's Path in communication with the rest of your modular thanks to the CV inputs.
Stereo or dual mono
The Gemini's Path allows linked or independant control over two channels and can therefore be used as two mono units (with different modes on each channels). Think dual mono side chain compressor, out of phase tremolos for more stereo weirdness, a trigger that expands the drums and makes the bass pump, dual decay on VCAs for drum synthesis, triggered crossfader when mixing the outputs,…
Modal Electronics Argon8 Factory Patch Bank Demos
Published on Nov 22, 2019
"Sound demos of some of the presets available in the Modal Electronics Argon8 Factory Patch Banks.
Modal Argon8 is an 8 voice polyphonic wavetable synthesiser. It features 120 crafted wavetables split into 24 banks of 5 morphable waveform sets, 32 oscillators in total (4 per voice) and a huge range of wavetable and oscillator modifiers.
Beyond the oscillators there is a multi-mode filter, 3 envelope generators, 2 audio-rate LFOs, 3 powerful independent and user configurable stereo FX engines, a real-time sequencer, a programmable arpeggiator and an extensive modulation matrix."

"This is a chance to buy an extremely rare, highly collectable Jomox Sunsyn in nearly new condition. This synth, bought directly from Jomox has been in a smoke free recording studio and has rarely been used. It's a truly amazing synth with an incredibly full and powerful sound which didn't fit into the style of music I was eventually making so has spent much of its time stored in its original box. I'm loathe to give this up but accept it's time to let go of this fabulous machine so another owner can put this to better use.
Only around 200 of these synths were ever made and very rarely come up for sale.
*Note that this is the original system software version 1
Specifications
Polyphony - 8 voices (4- and 6- voice models available too)
Oscillators - 2 VCOs per voice; waveforms: saw, square, pulsewidth. 2 RCOs per voice (digital waveforms that follow the analog oscillators)
LFO - 2 per voice; triangle, sawtooth up/down, rectangle and random waveforms
Filter - 4-pole with HP/LP switching for each pole; analog morphing between two filter setups.
Effects - None
Keyboard - None
Memory - 350 Single / 150 Multi / 4 wavesets; 1 PCMCIA card slot for waves and sounds"

"Eko K1 bass pedal. Analogue synth sound.
13 keys, 1/4 inch output with germany power plug. This is a very rare and unique piece of gear, a vintage find! All analogue old school synth sound. Similar to the Moog taurus pedals. I ran it through a few FX pedals (the line 6 FM4 turned this into a full blown 70's synthesizer) to achieve a foot controled synth.
There are 2 octave ranges. The keys go from C to C (13 pedals, 1 octave). the footswitches are for: sustain, tuning, volume, low octave, high octave, reed or string tone, power."

ALFA RPAR AS3350D Voltage Controlled State Variable Filter In Production
For the DIYers out there.
"#AS3350D - dual voltage controlled state variable filter (SOIC-16) in production. Datasheet will be updated later."
Until then here's some info on the AS3350:
"The AS3350 is a dual voltage controlled state-variable filter intended for electronic musical instruments and other signal processing applications. Each filter provides both voltage control of center/cut-off frequency over more than 12 octaves and voltage control of Q from 1/2 to greater than 40. All control scales are exponential, allowing for easier control of the parameters over their wide range. Although the two filters are completely independent, they may be easily interconnected to form a wide variety of filter responses.

"Today we have a perfect rave lead recipe for you. The secret of this patch is in the filter section of grand terminal as well as squawk dirty filter. First, we have a 24db low pass filter, which is then followed by a comb filter in serial mode. Comb filter modulated by an AD envelope is the magic component of this sound, highlighting harmonics and adding a spread like fx to the original waveform.

miRack iOS modular synth patchstorage.com sounds demo by Roikat
Published on Nov 22, 2019 Roikat
"Demo of free sounds for the miRack modular synthesizer iOS app available at https://patchstorage.com/author/roikat/
The demo starts with some wind sounds and drones. At 1:27 it shifts to allegedly more 'musical' sequences.
Other apps used included Cubasis and Final Touch. 4Pockets Shimmer and Visual Reverb were combined for reverb. The drone patch was made into a sampled instrument in AudioLayer.
Some of the patches in the video include modules that have been discontinued. The patches I post to patchstorage.com won't suffer from this. The removal of the Fundamental (Basics) modules blew up the first 30 patches I had created. Fortunately, the developer has added over 100 new modules to the app since then, so I can't complain too much."
