Tales From The Loop Music - Retro-Futuristic Cover feat. OP-Z and LUMI Keys

Published on Apr 20, 2020 Lo-fi Pask

"I did it again, another TV Show Cover! :-) Teenage Engineering's OP-Z new EP sounds were perfect to make a cover of Amazon Prime Tales From The Loop's Music Theme.

All sounds are sequenced on (and comes from) OP-Z, but I also used the Roli LUMI Keys as controller, to play some (electric) piano parts.

The Original music theme has been made by Philip Glass and Paul Leonard-Morgan.

Tales From The Loop TV Show is inspired by retro-futuristic images from Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag: in my video you'll see images from his books, like The Electric State (2017), Things From The Flood (2016) and Tales From The Loop (2014)."

Paul Hartnoll meets the new 2600

Published on Apr 20, 2020 Korg

"We headed to Brighton to meet up with Paul Hartnoll, one half of the pioneering EDM duo Orbital. The reason for the visit was to introduce him to the new ARP 2600!

Paul is no stranger to this iconic synthesiser, having purchased a 2600 for Orbital back in 1993, and is still the pride of place in his studio. Paul told us “We used 2600 a lot on the albums In Sides and Snivilisation, (particularly) on the track Kien Trink Wasser. It starts quite orchestral then jumps into a big bass drop which was the 2600. The original is all over those albums, sometimes more subtly”.

In this video, you can see Paul take a first look at the new ARP2600 FS, making some initial comparisons to the original. “The added LFO is a great addition. I love that feature”. Summarising, Paul describes the 2600FS as a “fresh, sparkly, clean (dirty) ARP - straight out of the box”.

Ableton Instrument racks Megapack - Siel DK80 polyphonic analog Italian synthesizer

Published on Apr 20, 2020 Expanding Sound

"This pack is compatible with Ableton Live Lite 9.7.7 and above.
Get the pack here http://www.expandingsound.com/product...

The Siel DK80 is an interesting analog synth of the past. It first piqued my interest thanks to a Youtube video going through the presets. It sounded like there was a ton of modulation and it had such a weird interesting vibe to it. There was kind of an old school horror feel from the VHS days flowing through my mind, so warbly and eerie. Once the DK80 was in my possession I learned a lot about what makes this synth interesting. Both oscillators are basically independent of each other, which lends itself to creating some pretty unique patches. Both oscillator A and B can be tweaked, mixed, and modulated into pretty much whatever you want. That allows for some wide stereo patches.

The name DK80 is quite fitting, as this synth oozes 80s nostalgia. If you enjoy the sounds of vapor and retrowave you'll find yourself using this pack quite a bit. This megapack includes 26 instruments and one DK80 ultimate 80s effect rack. This effect rack includes effects that I think are suitable for the time period of the synth.

I hope you enjoy it! Keep the DK80 and the 80s alive!"

Rack-mounted Analogue Solutions Fusebox...

So, I've rack-mounted my Analogue Solutions Fusebox... Published on Apr 20, 2020 rezfilter

"I've rack-mounted the Analogue Solutions Fusebox and have stuck to the same look 'n feel as the Generator (black, red, orange) with the orange side rails. Looks n sounds great!

Here's a little video with it, and the Nyborgs to show folks who may not have known that it's rackable.

Check out the Patternator in action as it's quite easy to generate quick rhythms and patterns on the fly.

More to come!"

stg/soundlabs The Boat Rocker - Drop-in eurorack PSU for 60HP Moog Boats

This one is in via Suit & Tie Guy of stg/soundlabs:

"Just wanted to let everyone know that my power supply for empty Moog Mother-32 boats is finally available. I'm sorry that it took so long, but it's been worth the wait IMHO.

Basically, it's a 1 amp per rail (+12, -12, +5) eurorack PSU for 60HP Moog boats that came with Mother-32/ DFAM/ BFAM/ Subharmonicon/ Spectravox units. Many of you have taken these fantastic synthesisers and put them into larger setups, and have an empty case kicking around and here's a nice turnkey solution for making those empty cases into something useful.

Something really cool about this supply is that it's split into two independently-regulated groups, so if you have modules that generate crosstalk across shared power rails you can further isolate them even in such a tiny case!

Also a little .VCO update, for those of you waiting on that: the production prototypes are shipping to me this week and if they check out I should be able to put them into production immediately. I already have the front panels here so I'll just be waiting on the electronics. For those of you who don't have to deal with the differences in those delays that means weeks instead of months.

Currently it's only for specifically the boats that shipped with Moog's very excellent synthesisers in the format, but eventually I will be able to offer it in packages for the empty boats they sell, Behringer boats of all types, and generic DIY case situations. However for now it is only for the Moog boats that have the holes in the back for power and 1/4" connectors. If you are super excited for these for the generic application please drop me a line, I can support that now but I'm trying to roll this out slow so that I can keep up.

Anyway, here's the product page on my webzone if you want to order one. They are $199 USD. I can't figure out how to update international shipping on Paypal's site so you'll still be paying 2016 pricing for that"
