New Module: Making Sound Machines - Stolperbeats. Shuffled Beats in Eurorack!
video upload by Making Sound Machines
"Happy Easter everyone!
What started out as a tiny little seedling of a project, our secret pattern generator, has grown into its own and hatched as a full-grown Eurorack module! Stolperbeats, roughly translating to "beats tripping over themselves", is a drum trigger sequencer designed to create shuffled beats influenced by artists like FlyingLotus, HiatusKaiyote and JDilla. We've always been fascinated by taking our beats offgrid to give them more fluidity and life. This module allows you to easily dial in and seamlessly switch between all the shuffle, feeling and groove we would, in the past, painstakingly nudge together in a DAW.
Stolperbeats is heard here triggering Eurorack drum modules, including the fantastic Prok Drum available as a DIY kit from Thonk doing the obiwankenobi dragon call, Tiptopaudio’s One playing the @beatsbykabuki STRIKE audio card through @rocket_not FenixIV phaser and an unreleased Making Sound Machines prototype called PercussiveMaintenance, played through @serge_by_random_source 's wavemultiplier and with added oomph from @tomwhitwell's MusicThing Minidrive. The performance showcases switching from a nonuplet groove to a quintuplet shuffle in the blink of an eye.
Stolperbeats features CV and MIDI control over trigger patterns for Kick, Snare, open and closed Hihat and 2x Percussion, as well as control over the depth of shuffle applied. It outputs trigger signals for use with Eurorack drum modules, and MIDI suitable for drum machines and synthesizers.
The module is not in stores quite yet but you will be able to play it at @superbooth_berlin 2022. And you might have noticed a sneaky little peak of it in a @divkidvideo already : D"

Behringer PPG Wave Progress
An updated on the Wave from Behringer (don't miss the note on the logo design further below):
"We’re very excited to share with you that we’ve just completed our third and final prototype after 3 years of development, which will now go to our beta testers for final testing, before the synthesizer is released for mass production.

We’re also working together with the legendary Hermann Seib, one of the creators behind this beautiful synth.
This is an exceptionally beautiful and unique synth and once we receive the necessary semiconductors, we’ll get it straight into mass production and into your hands."
Followed by:
"Normally, I wouldn't be bothered by something unimportant like that, but something is annoying me with the design of the logo/synth-name section of the panel. Maybe it is the missing 'PPG' part or the version numbers, or even both. Of course, I do understand that most likely copyright issues are leaving no other choice than using whatever remains, but at least to me, it looks like 'basically Samson - but without his hair' if you get what I mean. I don't know, but perhaps it would be cooler and more of a bold statement (rather than the somewhat castrated "wave") to either use only the version number instead (making it the "Behringer 2.2") or just the capitalized letters "PPG" using the same font as for the "wave" (instead of the iconic original logo design). This would look more like 'maybe it's not the actual Samson, but all of it's might and power'"
