"This is a Breakaway Vocalizer 1000 Voice-Controlled Music Synthesizer. It is in excellent condition. It looks like it was never used or only used a couple of times. It comes in the original box with the instruction booklet, "in use/on break" sign, Styrofoam packing material, main synthesizer unit, microphone and cord, power cord plugin, extra mic cover, mouth piece. It does not have any cartridges with this listing...

The Breakaway 1000 is a voice controlled music synthesizer. You hum into a microphone and it comes out as any synth sound you choose. It has 28 voices to choose from. The best thing is that it is also an Analog-to-MIDI converter. You can plug a 1/4" jack into it (guitar, say) and use the MIDI OUT jack to trigger any other MIDI instrument from your guitar, voice, keyboard, or what-have-you! The Breakaway also has 5-track digital recording capabilities with a memory of over 1000 notes, along with built-in drum machine and bass accompaniment. Breakaway Vocalizer 1000 was released in 1988, (licensed to Breakaway by the Eltrex Corp.) and sold thru the Sharper Image Catalog, Montgomery Ward stores, and distributed by Tascam. It's notoriety has climbed in recent years as emerging electronic musicians clamored for a means to generate MIDI sounds using only their voice. It was discovered these Breakaway "toys" were actually quite capable instruments - able to track and playback to the nearest 32nd of a semitone. The on-board tone generator was co-developed by Ensoniq, a leader in music technology back then. The unit could also track the pitch of just about any sound-producing object and generate corresponding MIDI triggers. Even today, it is sought after by harmonica players as one of the best MIDI input devices available.Specifications:Synthesis: Stereo, sampled waveforms. Ambient jam with the Arturia Polybrute and Soma Cosmos

video upload by Jay Hosking

"A live, semi-improvised track performed entirely on hardware.

With some busier jams coming up, I wanted to put another simple, ambient setup on the table. It had been ages since I explored the Polybrute, not because I don't like it, but because it's so big! But the Polybrute has great oscillators, filters, and effects, as well as a layout that is a joy to explore. Paired with the Cosmos, i.e. my favourite looper, and I've actually been making improvisations on this setup for a week.

Arturia Polybrute — All synth sounds and effects
Soma Cosmos — Asymmetrical drifting loop station

Performed and recorded live to a stereo output, with EQ, compression, and limiting on the master.

EUCLIDEAN / TRIGGER SEQUENCER | Endorphin.es - Running Order

video upload by DANIELE

"Endorphin.es Running Order is a two track trigger sequencer that also work as a master clock or as a divider/multiplier of an incoming clock signal. It has a euclidean mode per track and a few cool features you can see in this video. It's only 6 HP!"

at one point during the performance, my entire arm covered the frame while i was adjusting the filter cut-off on the whimsical raps three sisters, so i included some amazing clips of the sky that felt right for the music for that section.

The Bizarre Beauty Of The Stuber

video upload by HAINBACH

"Peter Blasser's Instruments have been central to my music and live performances for a long time. His Ciat-Lonbarde series is both mystifying and rewarding, balancing chaos and lush sound beautifully. With the Din Datin Dudero edition of oval instruments he has created something even more elusive: what looks like the result of a surfboard and a CDJ getting cozy in a woodshop, the Stuber stereo analog filter instrument is both intuitive and an enigma.

I explored it over the course of ten days, writing 18 tracks for a new album with it as a center piece. I can't claim I am fully aware of how it works, mastery of it is something that needs a long time of practice, but I have fallen in love with it, like with all of Peter's instruments before."

video upload by AutomaticGainsay

"Here are some examples of sounds created with the Korg ARP 2600M. All sounds are recorded direct without any equalization or other effects.

The theme music for this demonstration was created with a Korg ARP 2600M (with the exception of drums)."

GEOSynths Synth Show Jams - Ep140 - With Dean from Electronisounds

video upload by GEOSynths

"Synthesizer Podcast - April 2022 Jams - With Dean from Electronisounds - Episode 140 @ 6pm UK (1pm EST) Sunday 24th April.

Dean from Electronisounds is a dedicated synth nerd, sound designer, YouTuber and multi-instrumentalist. The drums were his first instrument and that love of rhythm is clear in his music. He comes from an old school background of learning to produce before the days of the internet - which gave him a love for hardware gear. (Producing 100% in the box on computers was not an option in the early 1990’s, you needed to have actual hardware gear if you wanted to make electronic music.)

Using hardware led to a love of SAMPLING, which led him to start Electronisounds in 1994, where he began distributing his own sounds, loops and samples. Electronisounds was one of the first independent sample companies. Dean continues this passion for hardware gear today, making sound banks for modern day samplers, groove boxes and synthesizers.

He’s made over 250 sample packs, sound banks and preset banks, and has done sound design for several other companies such as: Eventide, Novation, Native Instruments, Vengeance, Modbap Modular and many more.

He started the Electronisounds YouTube channel in 2017 and has been sharing tutorials and music made with everything from iPads, to Modular Synths and Eurorack to Grooveboxes like the Digitakt and Akai Force. What’s next for Dean? More new sound banks and sample packs coming soon, of course!
