Chris Meyer's Alias Zone: The Barefoot Trail (live at Mountain Skies 2022)

video upload by Chris Meyer: Learning Modular + Alias Zone

"Live performance video of Chris Meyer performing a new piece - The Barefoot Path - on modular synth and Ableton Live at the Mountain Skies 2022 Electronic Music Festival in Black Mountain, North Carolina.

This piece is based on the Zuni pilgrimage every four years along The Barefoot Trail to Zuni Heaven, and starting with the story of how their ancestors emerged from the underworld.

The video portion was produced by RadHaus Studio, who handled recording and video duties at the venue, White Horse Black Mountain. Many thanks to the crew there!"

5 things: sequence and pattern patches with the Mimetic Digitalis Eurorack module

video upload by Noise Engineering

"In this video, we'll show you 5 things you can try patching with the Mimetic Digitalis CV sequencer.

0:05 Complex clocking patterns
1:00 Multiple notes per step
2:00 Random gate generator
2:49 Silent steps in a sequence
3:58 Control modulation

More on the Mimetic Digitalis: https://bit.ly/3wkEts4

Mimetic Digitalis is a 10HP step sequencer optimized for live use. It includes four individually editable CV outputs and a trigger out. Each step can be manually programmed, or you can record CV using the encoder. The zero button deletes the CV and shred randomizes the voltage on selected channels. Edit a pattern and use undo to return to the unedited version. Save and load up to 16 patterns, with 8 on-the-fly slots for easy access during a set. Mimetic Digitalis is a modular synth performer's dream."

Waldorf Iridium & Quantum - Sequences Soundset by SMV Producer

video upload by SMV Producer

"This sound bank is available for purchase at: Gumroad: https://gumroad.com/smvproducer

A sound bank of 32 sounds + 2 bonus, composed mainly by sequences. Anyway, since many sounds are in split mode, you will get more than 34 sounds. In this sound bank the particle engine was not used, so no samples were used. The sounds in the video were directly recorded through my Motu 828X. No external processing was used. A good set of speakers or a good pair of headphones are HIGHLY suggested. Thanks

Erik Satie's Gnossienne 1 on PerFourMer & Space Echo

video upload by Richard DeHove

"This piece begun just as a test for the new RE-202 Space Echo but I liked the gritty feel so thought it might be interesting to share. The setup on the Vermona PerFourMer is the top two oscillators are on Channel 1 and playing the high part, each oscillator in panned hard left and right and play alternate notes. The bottom two are on Channel 2 playing bass and centered, also alternating. The MIDI file sometimes has more polyphony than the four oscillators can provide but I just let the machine figure that out :D Stereo output is going into the Space Echo. The Space Echo is playing with it's saturation at about 40%, wow and flutter at about 25% with the reverb type changed to Plate at about 70%. Tempo is 74bpm. There's absolutely no other effects other than the PerFourMer and the Space Echo - no compression or EQ - only what you see.

The original MIDI file comes from here: https://www.kunstderfuge.com//satie.htm and is used with sincere thanks. The site has almost 20,000 MIDI files and is well worth subscribing.

Odyssee | A tribute to Vangelis | 0-Coast - Strega - ZOIA

video upload by Cinematic Laboratory

"I grew up with Kraftwerk, Tomita, Moroder, Brian Eno and Vangelis. From a musical perspective, Vangelis always appealed to me the most. He triggered the imagination. I remember hearing 'Spiral' somewhere around 1977 but he really got my attention at the opening theme of his 'China' album: The illusion of arriving at this huge temple by some Orient Express train. When listening to it today it still sounds fresh and modern. Vangelis is a timeless inspiration for the synth enthousiast. I bet many of us fell in love with synthesis because of him. I know he made records to justify having access to all that amazing gear. To do what he loved most. His story is a valuable lesson. I linked his last interview in the link above the video."

Modal Mysteries: Increasing Ambition

video upload by Modal Electronics

"Our First Modal Mystery Melody is based on a popular indie game that featured a soundtrack exclusively from UK-based indie label Ghostly Digital. One of Michna's entries features a dreamy string pad with a long release tail and a touch of white noise, giving it a relaxed and airy mood. This episode features the build of that lead on COBALT8."
