Offset Explanation & Performance with the CV MIX & Multi Burst Envelopes (for Ratcheting effects)

"This video will explain using a fixed voltage as an Offset on the CV MIX module, and uses it help create variable ratcheting effects during a sequence, using the Multi Burst Envelopes module, which is ideal for this task, especially since you can sync envelope repeats via a sequencer, or other external clock.
In the first part of the video Offset and the built-in attenuation on some modules is explained, then in the second an explanation of the patch I'm using it in, and finally in the third part a short, simple performance.

micro wavepatterns [Busy Circuits ASQ-1 & System J Transcendant Filter]

"This is my first experiment with the Busy Circuits ASQ-1

I'm using it in quantizer mode and sending it voltages from the 2 182 sequencers. It works by quantising any incoming voltage to whatever notes you select on the keyboard. Cool effect!

Also in the patch is the System J Transcendant Filter - lovely sounding m-m filter!! Thanks to James at System J for sending it to me ❤️❤️❤️

The other interesting thing about this patch is that I'm using a Kenton CV to MIDI converter so I can tigger any midi synth from the euro-rack rig. Neato!

In this case I'm triggering the Waldorf Microwave 2 made in the mid 1990s

"After recently designing some custom circuits for a client I've decided to make a few of them available as limited run eurorack modules - the first of these is the Transcendent VCF. Modules are custom built using mostly NOS through hole components in keeping with the original circuits and style. Panel is screen printed anodised black aluminium. This module is fairly deep at 67mm so please make sure that it will fit in your modular case. Limited run of 20 production units only. Available from June 25th. Demo clips coming soon...

Module Details:
The Transcendent VCF takes its inspiration from the classic British mono synth of the 1970s and, while not a direct clone, it brings the distinctive and unique character of that well-loved machine to the eurorack world.

The filter is a 2 pole, 12db/oct design with selectable low pass and band pass response. The resonance behaviour is quirky and unpredictable and is key to the unique sound of the Transcendent - as you advance the resonance control there are many sweet spots to explore, from subtle harmonics to howling resonant peaks.
At high resonance levels the filter will self oscillate and can be utilised as a sine wave oscillator.
CV1 input is scaled for a v/oct response and can be used for key follow effects as well as standard modulation. It has its own attenuator.
CV2 input has a wider range and is suitable for deeper modulation duties - from an LFO or envelope generator for example. It also has its own attenuator.
Two audio signal inputs are available, both with dedicated attenuators.
The final output also features a level control.

Moog Subharmonicon Dark Ambient

"This is another slow ambient patch made on the Subharmonicon trying to assign all available oscillators.

Grasping at a Hans Zimmer sort of vibe, but don't know if it fully comes off.

I do wish there was a patch point for the envelope amount. Sequence 1 patched into the Filter Cutoff. Sequence 2 patched into the trigger."

"With an additional MIDI to CV/Gate interface, you are able to control the CV, Gate and the filter cutoff of the SH-7.

The SH-7 is a 2-VCO, duophonic analog synthesizer with a 31/2-octave, 44-note (F-C) keyboard. Both VCOs can be switched between triangle,sawtooth, square, and pulse waveforms. VCO2 can be detuned from VCO1.Pulse-width can be controlled by the LFO or ENV1 (envelope generator 1). EachVCO has three sliders that adjust how much it is affected by the LFO, S/H, anda function called "Autobend". Autobend allows the VCO to slide up ordown to a pitch. The Autobend function has controls for polarity and time. VCO1has an additional square wave section (called VCO1B) wherein five sliderscontrol the volume of each square wave (2', 4', 8', 16', and 32'). This worksin much the same way as an organ's drawbars do. The SH-7 also features a ringmodulator where the first input is VCO1 and the second is switchable betweenVCO2 and an external signal (via the external input jack in the back). There isa switch for oscillator sync. However, it does not achieve the usual"sync" sound. A mixer section provides five sliders, VCO1A, VCO1B,VCO2, Noise, and the last one switchable between the Ring Modulator and the External Signal.

The SH-7 features a single VCF (self-oscillating, 24dB/octave)with five sliders controlling modulation, many of them having a switch tochoose between two options. The modulation sliders are for are the ENV1 (withswitchable polarity), LFO or S/H, Keyboard or optional pedal, VCO1 or noise,and an envelope follower from the external signal (also with switchablepolarity). The VCA can be controlled by either ENV1or ENV2, and has a Hold button and a slider for LFO amount. Both ENV1 and ENV2are ADSR envelopes and each has three trigger options, gate/trigger, gate, andLFO. The sample-and-hold section features three waveforms sources and an OutputLag slider (a rare but extremely useful feature). The LFO can output sine,up-ramp, or pulse waveforms, and has controls for rate and delay. Portamentocan be set for just up, just down or both ways. The bender can be set tomodulate the VCO, VCF, and/or the VCA with varying amounts of control voltageor LFO signal."
