THE KORG VC-10 VOCODER FROM 1978

"A look at the Korg VC-10 from 1978, their first ever vocoder. It was part of the MS range and was used by Buggles, Tomita, Keith Emerson, Apollo 440, Klaus Schulze and many others.

The VC-10 is a 20 band vocoder with an onboard microphone (modulator) and internal tone generators (carriers)
Controls:
Pitch wheel, tuning and an octave switch
Keyboard to noise balance
External signal (carrier) in with level
Internal and external Mic level (modulator)
Balance of vocoder signal and audio through
External pitch control of the internal tone generators
An LFO (vibrato) with speed and depth
Accent bend (a kind of envelope mod on attack to emulate the human voice changing pitch)
Ensemble Effect (same as the PS-3100)
I also used the MS-01 foot pedal and MS-02 interface from the same range as well as the Roland System 100m and Boss RPS-10 and CE-300 FX."

"OB-8 from our collection in excellent condition. The synth has been extremely well cared for and maintained. There are numerous pictures included - including closeups showing any scratches & imperfections on the unit.

Latest Firmware B5 w/ Factory MIDI
All ECO's completed - It's a late build so only ECO's #440 & #441 needed to be completed
Bender board replaced w/ our custom assembly (original part included in sale)
All electrolytic capacitors replaced. Main PSU filter caps replaced w/ Mallory parts. All other supply voltage related caps replaced w/ premium Panasonic FC & Nichicon UPW-series 105c parts. All audio capacitors replaced w/ Panasonic ECA-series parts.
All Op amps replaced w/ new Texas Instruments parts.
All TTL & CMOS IC's replaced w/ new Texas Instruments parts.
All audio jacks replaced w/ new Amphenol parts.
All new molex headers.
All zinc-plated hardware replaced w/ 18-8 stainless steel parts (nuts, washers, screws etc..) .
All aluminum standoffs replaced. Hinged standoffs replaced.
End panel screws & washers replaced w/ new parts.
Panasonic keybed cleaned.
Bender board collet knobs replaced w/ brand new Elma parts.
Rubber feet still intact (they used a stick-on door stop for feet and they are often missing)."
