Welcome to Bad Gear, the show about the world's most hated audio tools. Today we are going to talk about Waldorf Kyra. Is this high-end synth and VA synthesis flagship even a real Waldorf? Is it a wavetable synthesizer? What's an Exodus Valkyrie? Who's Manuel Caballero, what's so great about FPGA technology and do we really need another digital synth in a world full of software instruments and plugins?

[patch] Multimode Drums (Blofeld)
video upload by Synthesizer Video Service
"I'm showing in this tutorial how to program a simple rhythm on the Waldorf Blofeld synthesizer, using the multi-mode and the arpeggiator. Use it as a basis for your own experiments!

TX81Z Arduino MIDI Controller / Editor
video upload by Unrelated Activities
"This Arduino MIDI controller features six potentiometers, four rotary encoders with switch, five additional momentary normally open tactile switches, and one 128x64 pixels I2C OLED display. MIDI output is via traditional five pin DIN connector, there will be TSR jacks for expression pedals and foot switches (for on-off messages like hold and/or sostenuto).
Currently implemented code for sending control change using potentiometers and pedals, and system exclusive messages reproducing the panel switches of the TX81Z (using rotary encoders and switches)."
Morning meditation with Buchla, Kesako & Morphagene
video upload by batchas
"I tried this small setup this morning in a 30 mins recording session.
This video is the first half of the session with a few cuts (the parts when I plug cables into the 258j for instance and it do that does not react - it's an old DIY project and I need to repair the faulty CV IN).
First time using the Morphagene in a patch (loaded with field recording samples).
External effects are: Audiothingies Doctor A, Eventide H9, Hologram Microcosm."
Morning meditation with Buchla, Kesako & Morphagene [Part 2]
"I tried this small setup this morning in a 30 mins recording session.
This video is the second half of the session, uncut.
First time using the Morphagene in a patch (loaded with field recording samples).
External effects are: Audiothingies Doctor A, Eventide H9, Hologram Microcosm.
I heard via headphones some saturation while preparing the video, which I didn't hear during recording. It looks like I did not set correctly the stereo level on the inputs of the Antelope Discrete 4. It would not be the first time. When I listen on YouTube it's even worse :(
A shame, cause I really enjoyed how this session did sound while improvising live."
Eurorack low pass gates - session 5 (ish)
video upload by John Schussler
Note this is the first post to feature BeepBoop.
"I can't stop collecting low pass gates. There's GAS, and then there's LPG GAS. Don't know what the deal is there.
Here's the latest batch. Most of them are small and passive, but some are bigger and powered and covered in knobs and sliders and stuff. So it's really a sound comparison, not a full module comparison.
Sound source: Befaco Pony square wave. Sequencer: Stochastic IG.
No envelopes, just gates out of the SIG.

Jamming with Nord Wave, Yamaha CS-15, and Friends
video upload by Bata
"Sequencing the Nord Wave, Yamaha CS-15, Studio Electronics Boomstar, and Moog Source from the Akai MPC-X. The CS-15 is using a Kenton Pro Solo MK3 as midi to CV converter and the Source is using a Roland SBX-1. Drums are from the MPC and are Oberheim DMX samples. The highhat is going through a DeltaLab effectron for flanging. Behringer Pro-1 does the lead with its filter being modulated from the free running Frostwave Fat Controller."
