Bob Moog (didn't invent the synthesiser)?

video upload by Zoë Blade

A mini historical timeline of key events by Zoë Blade. It's interesting in that it gives you some of driving forces behind the designs. For an in depth list of electronic music instruments see https://120years.net. If you want read a couple of books on Bob Moog check out Analog Days: The Invention and Impact of the Moog Synthesizer, and Switched On: Bob Moog and the Synthesizer Revolution (Amazon affiliate links). Note: memories can be fuzzy. There are some critiques for Analog Days not being 100% accurate. I haven't heard any on Switched On. That said, both books are interesting reads and will get you closer to some of that history.

Video description:

"After researching a bit about where Bob Moog got his ideas (and rewatching It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia), I finally got around to making my 'crazy board' red wool video (over a year and a half after buying the wool for this specific purpose), before I inevitably forget it all again.

This is my latest attempt at making a 'quick and easy' video, where I ramble on at the camera for three takes then edit the best bits together into something vaguely coherent.

I spent a good while typing out the subtitles for those who need it, which, given how I talk, is probably everyone. 😅

I hope you like it!"

Ewa, add-on for the Krait module

video upload by DNIPRO MODULAR

"Introducing Ewa, a little lovely Kraits expander."

Image and details via Nightlife Electronics' Reverb shop. It was the first result to come up searching for the module, and Nightlife Electronics supports the site.

Ewa was created as a partner to the Krait module, a syncable 3-channel modulation source. Paired with Ewa, Krait will get new useful abilities, such as 3 freely routable cv inputs, endless encoder for smooth editing without value jumps, dedicated clock menu button and clock and reset outputs.

Each CV input can be used to record external cv source in Record mode. You can route it to any parameter of the LFO and Random too. With Ewa now it is easy to modulate LFO rate or Random slew for example. CV inputs are bipolar and react to the signals between -5 +5 voltages.

Additionally a dedicated clock menu button and clock output can make Krait as a clock source for other modules in your system that need sync.

To use Ewa, you need to install firmware 2.0 on Krait.

Ambient Explorations pt.39 (30 min generative soundscape)

video upload by Piotr Garbaczonek

"Hey folks, been a minute since my last upload. Life's been throwing its curveballs – between school and work, finding the mojo for videos got a bit tricky. But hey, I cooked up this chill, extended ambient piece on my modular system for you. It's raw, it's real. The channel's not dead – far from it. Big shoutout to the new subscribers holding it down. I'll be dropping in with more jams when I can. Cheers for riding the wave with me! 🤘🎹

Hey Patreon fam,

I wanted to drop a quick note and express my gratitude for your ongoing support. Lately, I've been juggling a ton with my school commitments, leaving me with little bandwidth for regular posts here. I'm currently knee-deep in the academic grind, and I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things once this chapter wraps up in the spring.

In the meantime, there's a treasure trove of content from my older videos waiting for you on the page – think patch notes, pictures, and even some PDF guides. Your support means the world, and I can't wait to dive back into more Patreon goodness soon. Thanks for your understanding and patience! 🙏🎶 #PatreonFamily

This pic makes me wonder what it would look like with silver knobs.

Sequential Circuits Pro-One SN 9661 w/ Updated Keybed

"The backstory with this instrument is that I bought it used in Feb. 2020, replaced the keybed with the drop in replacement from Techsmechs, and then had it tuned and calibrated by Matt at Futura Electronics. I then traded it to a friend who didn't use it much for the past couple years. Then I got it back over this past summer.

Cosmetically, it's particularly nice and I'd even say a cut above the rest. Very few signs of use at all. This is a higher serial number, made in September of 1983, hence why I had to replace the old membrane keyboard.

Functionally, it's working great and it sounds beautiful. Just give it 30+ minutes to fully warm up just like any other vintage analog synth. All ins and outs are working as they should. Sold AS-IS, as described in vintage working order."

Bad Gear - A Tragedy???

video upload by AudioPilz

"Welcome to Bad Gear, the show about the world's most hated audio tools. Today we are going to talk about Dreadbox Nymphes. Is this compact polyphonic analog synthesizer a worthy replacement for classics like a Roland Juno or the Sequential Circuits SixTrak it was inspired by? Is it on par with other Dreadbox synths like Erebus and Typhon and is the UI truly a tragedy???"
