Arturia Synthx V: A detailed demo/tutorial of an elusive synth reborn
video upload by CatSynth TV
"We present Synthx V, a new instrument from our friends at Arturia that recreates the sound and experience of the legendary and elusive Elka Synthex. The Synthex was a polyphonic analog synthesizer that had a few relatively unique features including pusle-width modulation and ring modulation and both oscillators. It had a particularly lush and vibrant sound.
We go over all the main features of the Synthx V as well as a few of the factory presets."

Some Subdivisions on an Oberheim OB-X8!
video upload by Ryan Javens
"A friend of mine let me try out his Oberheim OB-X8 and captured this video of me playing some Subdivisions. Please excuse the sloppy playing, I was just having fun! This synth sounds absolutely massive and I hope to own one someday. The Signals album in particular really made me fall in love with the Oberheim sound. I know it buries the guitars in the mix a bit too much for some, but I'm ok with it 😂."
Runner from Mehr Music Machines (west-coast sequencing)
video upload by NOISEBUG
"Mehr Music Machines - Runner is a sleek looking west coast sequencer that super playable and equally fun when patched as a control surface or utilitarian voltage present manager. Runner features three rows of five stages (steps) and can be clocked forwards and backwards at the same time. Each stage has a dedicated button that will force the sequence to a given stage, ignoring clock advances for the duration of the button press. With no clock the buttons will let you to play the module like a mini keyboard. This can also be performed via external gates utilizing the five gate inputs for direct step-address variations . Furthermore there are dedicated outputs for all gates generated via panel buttons, and another output for triggers. Trigger outputs (when the sequence is moving) there are no menus or shift buttons, runner is 100% analog.

Patch ideas not shown in this video:
Clock runner at audio rates for wild wave shaping
Reserve one of the rows for your VCA, create dynamic patterns.
Extend sequence length with a sequential switch
Runner is 22HP and currently available at Noisebug."

"Inspired by the West Coast modular synth pioneers, this 100% analog CV and Gate sequencer will remind you what makes modular synthesis so special. No nonsense, no menus, no shift function, just voltage
Runner features the following:
100% analog signal path
Five voltage stages for each of the three rows [three voltage outputs]
Two clock inputs for forward and backward sequencing [both can be used at the same time]
Manual stage gate button [can be played as a "keyboard" or preset manager]
Global gate output [outputs a gate at every new stage progression]
Stage gate inputs [send a gate to any stage gate input, and the sequencer will hold that stage's position for the duration of the gate]
Row of red LEDs to track the sequencer's position
Great for pitch sequencing, CV sequencing or use as a keybaord/preset manager"
New Barton Musical Circuits BMC118 Graphic Envelope
Demo video upload by boogdish
"New DIY Synth module. A graphic envelope generator. PCB/Panel/Microcontrollers are available on my site and a PDF with schematics/parts list etc https://www.bartonmusicalcircuits.com..."
"An envelope generator using slide pots like old graphic equalizers. Choose points in the envelope to loop during sustained portions. Use it as an LFO or as a normal step sequencer. A fun, tactile way of controlling modules. Compatible with 12V or 15V systems. Jacks are wired offboard, but all toggles and pots are mounted to the PCB. This design requires a slide pot from the Bourns PTL30 series, check for availibity before ordering."
New Barton Musical Circuits BMC117 Simple Square VCO
Demo video upload by boogdish
"New digital VCO design for beginners. PCB/PICs and the documentation PDF with schematic/part list/etc is at https://www.bartonmusicalcircuits.com..."
"An easy to build and easy to calibrate square wave VCO. Features 1V/O tuning, external CV input for modulation. Ideal for beginners or people needing a very small simple VCO to expand their system.
Compatible with 12V or 15V systems. The Pots are PCB mounted, but all other parts are mounted off board."

Hands on with Groc: Layers, Effects, Time path
video upload by oddment audio
"I received some new samples from a fantastic musician/producer. This was was good motivation to make an example using multiple layers. In this one I take a beat, mess with a bunch of parameters to create effects and store the patch. Then I create a second patch on layer two where I use Groc's time path envelope to move through the first few notes of the sample before sustaining. Again mess with some stuff, the re-start the beat on layer one to hear the two together. Enjoy!"
