For the video, we used the Korg EMX1 sequencer via midi to trigger the sounds of the Linn Drum. We also have the Linn hooked up to a Lexicon 480L for a great sounding reverb.

A fully restored Linn Drum from our repair shop comes with the following necessary restorations:
-All sliders/pan pots disassembled, cleaned, re-greased and re installed
-Synthronics PSU upgrade installed (no more noisy transformer/old PSU design: 100V-240 V universal voltage)
-All lilac electrolytic capacitors changed out with new axial capacitors
-Firmware updated to latest version 3.2
-Kenton Midi kit installed for use with a modern set up
-All pushbutton switches opened up, contacts cleaned, and tested thoroughly for more reliability
-Factory Presets uploaded

Redshift 6 - Solar Wind Surfing

"For this demo track we set up three Redshift 6’s that each play their own part.

Strings: AURORA STRINGS - Character: Crisp
Lead: SPACE CAT - Character: Sour
Bass: POLARIS BASS - Character: Sour

Effects in this demo are external effects. Delay: Meris Polymoon, Reverbs: Meris Mercury 7 and Eventide H9.

The phaser effect on the Aurora String patch is created using the Redshift 6’s Phaser Filter Engine. The Phaser Filter engine is in the test stage and will be added in the future firmware updates.

Motto Akemie for iPad - Syncing via AUM

"Motto Akemie, our 6 Voice FM drum synth and step sequencer is now available for iPad on the app store for on-the-go multitouch FM beat making!

Here we take a look at MIDI syncing the Motto by running it as an AUv3 plug-in inside of AUM, the popular multitracking mixer app. With this method, the Motto Akemie can be easily synchronised with other music apps, plugins or hardware gear as well as directly recorded, all from the iPad!

The iPad standalone version of Motto Akemie mirrors the desktop version’s features and includes an additional iPad specific preset manager. It will also function as a AUv3 instrument plug-in.

Each voice of the Motto Akemie is inspired by our renowned ‘Akemie’s Taiko‘ eurorack module featuring similar controls and playful FM sounds from pure sinusoidal oscillations to mega clonks to chaotic self-feedbacking enveloped noise.

The built in multitrack step sequencer allows for quick polyrhythmic pattern creation with step modulation of all parameters, randomisation and Pam style scaling across storable pattern banks and presets."

"A story that many electronic music artists have had to experience one day. While I was having a family dinner at Christmas, a nephew took his guitar, then an aunt, then a third one and the evening continued with improvised music. At the table, someone asks me if I also make music and I answer "yes but electronic ambient music", there was a silence. I could have said that I was a criminal, I would have received the same look from the people around me. So we talked about something else... sigh...

When I listen to Jean-Michel Jarre, Klaus Schulze or Vangelis, people often say to me "ah, you put your music back on for depressed people?"...

When I started this channel, I didn't understand why it was so hard to progress, after that evening, things became much clearer. But that won't stop me from continuing to make the music I love :-)
