Arcaico Instruments Introduces GLADIO Dual Slope Function Generator

"GLADIO is a dual generator of modulatable envelopes and slopes, inspired by the great classics of modular synthesis but reinterpreted according to Arcaico's vision.

Each envelope is a blade that sculpts time, a malleable flow that can become an envelope, a low-frequency oscillator, a complex shape generator or an interactive modulator. The name GLADIO recalls the ancient weapon, a symbol of precision and power.

OPERATING MODE:

AR (Attack-Release)
The envelope starts with the trigger and follows the attack and release curve. It is not affected by the gate duration.

ASR (Attack-Sustain-Release)

The envelope remains ‘high’ as long as the input gate remains active.

When the gate is released, the decay phase begins.

CYCLE
Transforms the generator into an LFO oscillator variable from 0.2 ms to 23 minutes.

Ideal for slow modulations or audio-rate oscillations.

FUZE
Envelope B follows Envelope A with a 90° phase shift.

Create quadrature modulations useful for stereo effects, timbre rotations and complex patterns.

EOC (End of Cycle)
Output that triggers on each completed cycle.

Can be used to synchronise other modules or to auto-trigger the envelope

SUM OUT.
use this output to mix the two envelopes and create new textures for your envelopes.

Syncussion SY-1 - Walkthrough and extended demo

"The Behringer Syncussion clone is a simple beast. It creates mighty bass drum hits with no effort and has beautiful noise. That in itself is something I find puzzling: If this cheap clone can so easily create big hits why are cheap drum machines always so dinky and gutless?

Here I do some lengthy noodlings with the SY-1 Syncussion with one channel through the Zen delay and the other through the Echolocator. This duo is really growing on me. The Zen has some good grit and saturation, while the Echolocator has various tricks with its freeze, shimmer and filter.

About halfway through I digress into a basic overview of the controls, then it's back to noodling. The DB-01 does a good job with sequencing although the original plan was to drive everything with the LXR-02. But horrors! I discovered that the MIDI out functionality on the LXR-02 is totally broken - confirmed by Erica Synths. Hoping for a fix on that soon. In the meantime the DB-01 will have to battle on as my sequencer.

If there's one thing I could change on the SY-1 it would be to add clock sync to the LFO. For me unsynced LFOs are a huge miss. Otherwise it's an excellent little synth. Two of them mounted in a Eurorack case could easily make for a powerful drum voice solution.

As usual, no DAW processing of any kind, it's all what you see.

This pack is my personal take on Trance and Rave — from the raw 90s AAH/Trance-Gate sounds to the Uplifting vibes of the early 2000s.

It includes 64 Presets and 10 MIDI sequences, spread across 10 Uplifting Basslines.

In this library, I focused more on the atmosphere of the 90s and 2000s rather than super saws (you’ll find plenty of those in the previous series). Here, it’s about beautiful Plucks that smoothly build into the powerfull Leads that instantly add energy to your track — and of course, the spirit of that era.

I made this library to bring back the energy of those golden Trance years. No sterile “perfect” sounds — just the real vibes that got us all hooked.
