"Soniccouture is pleased to announce an important addition to their highly rated percussion series: Xylophone.
'Modern xylophones can sound hard and unpleasant; many use synthetic tone bars. This xylophone had a warmth and personality to it that seemed almost cosy, friendlier than those we'd played before. Made by the Leedy Company, it is made of Honduran Rosewood and is beautifully worn and burnished and has plenty of character.
This instrument was owned (+ signed) by the celebrated British-Canadian jazz percussionist Peter Appleyard (1928-2013) - a true piece of musical history.'
"This is an ambient electronica piece where sustained tones from the volca fm2 are layered with tape loops and performances on the @SequentialLLC Prophet-10.
The volca fm2 is routed through @ChaseBlissAudio LOST+FOUND, creating continuous pad textures.
A piano performance is recorded onto a tape loop, played back on a cassette tape player with pitch adjustments. The output is processed through @strymon TIMELINE for delay, with feedback occasionally increased to form dense clusters of sound.
On the Prophet-10, synth pads are performed and processed through blueSky for reverb."
"In this video, I explore the scramble function on the Teenage Engineering OP-XY to generate random sounds and turn them into a full alternative electro-rock track.
I’m not a sound design expert, but I’m fascinated by the process of discovering new textures through experimentation. Using the OP-XY’s synthesis engines, I started generating random patches and shaping them into something cohesive.
At one point, a powerful sound emerged — the opening tone of the track — and everything else grew from there.
This piece moves into alternative electro-rock territory, blending:
Heavy electronic beats
Distorted bass lines
Aggressive synth textures
Raw, energetic sound design
Most of the sounds remain very close to their original scrambled versions. I only made subtle adjustments to fit the arrangement and dynamics.
This workflow felt spontaneous, unpredictable, and surprisingly personal, probably one of the most “mine” tracks I’ve made so far.
🔥 If you’re into dark/heavy electronic music, synth textures and Teenage Engineering gears, this track is for you. 🔥
Hope you enjoy it!

"Welcome to RetroSound Studio Tour: Analog Monophonic Synthesizers & Duophonic — a deep dive into legendary mono synths from the 1970s and 1980s, including rare East-Bloc classics.
In this new episode, I showcase iconic instruments such as the Minimoog, ARP Odyssey, Roland SH-101, Maxi-Korg, Sequential Circuits Pro-One, alongside Soviet and East German synthesizers like the Polivoks, Alisa 1377 and Vermona mono synths.
These analog monophonic synthesizers defined the sound of electronic music — from the fat Moog and cutting ARP to aggressive Polivoks and raw Eastern European character.
This video explores the sound and architecture of true analog mono synths built around VCO, VCF, and VCA signal paths, highlighting their distinctive basslines, lead sounds, and modulation capabilities. From the Moog basslines to the aggressive Polivoks filter sound and the unique character of East German Vermona synthesizers, each instrument demonstrates why 1970s and 1980s monophonic synthesizers remain highly sought after by collectors, producers, and electronic music enthusiasts."

"Echoes of Night Traffic" is a collection of 50 rhythmic presets for Arturia Pigments, designed to bridge the gap between surreal dreams and aggressive cyberpunk realities. The bank contains timbres heavily focused on sequences and rhythmic textures: 29 Sequences (SQ), 17 Rhythmic timbres (RH), and 4 Arpeggios (ARP).
📦 Get these presets: https://antonanru.sellfy.store/p/pigm... 👤 The author of the soundset is Daytona Carter. 🔔 Pigments presets can be imported into Arturia Analog Lab V. If you like these sounds but don’t have Minifreak or Pigments and only own the Analog Lab V plugin, you can still purchase these sets and load them into Analog Lab V.
💎 The library moves effortlessly from hypnotic, cosmic sequences to hard-hitting, aggressive rhythms that cut through the mix.
The soundset creates the atmosphere of a dystopian city, which would suit the soundtrack for a film, game, or electronic music (Techno, IDM, Ambient, Cinematic, Synthwave, Retrowave, Electronica, Acid, Industrial).

"What does deep sound design look like when it's shaped by years on stages with Ms. Lauryn Hill, The Fugees, and YG Marley? @SamGutman brought that perspective to our booth at NAMM 2026, and the result is a masterclass in what the 3rd Wave can really do.
In this session, Sam digs into the full range of the 3rd Wave's synthesis engine: PPG wavetables, modern wavetables, virtual-analog, linear FM, and sampling. Through the eyes and ears of a working musician, Sam shows how these tools come together in real musical contexts, from lush layered pads to sounds that complex arpeggiators.
Along the way, Sam showcases custom patches he built for the 3rd Wave 24K keyboard, demonstrates complex multi-part layering, and shares the creative thinking behind his sound design choices. Whether you're a seasoned synth programmer or just getting curious about what wavetable synthesis can do, there's something here for you.
