Grief Manual

video upload by Lesjamusic

"The Djupviks Elektronik Grief Manual is a Neuron-based wavedestroyer, CV generator and chaos source. This is the full functionality walkthrough, covering every control and how the three internal circuits relate. A separate patch video is coming soon.

Grief Manual is a limited run of just 50 copies, each bundled with a vinyl LP. The module and the record share a theme of grief and loss. Unlike most Djupviks modules it ships pre-built rather than as a DIY kit, in the same spirit as the Bunker bundles.

At its core is a Neuron circuit based on Andrew Fitch's Non-Linear Circuits design, used here with Andrew's blessing. Around it Jonas has built a digital noise circuit related to the one in Mörser, a chaos and LFO circuit of his own design, and a square oscillator that doubles as a modulation source.

Everything interacts with everything else, so patching into it means intervening in a system that is already in motion.

Disclosure: Jonas sent me this module to keep. As always, my assessment of it is my own and entirely honest.

Plinky12 as Norns Grid Controller

video upload by Nathan Plante Synths

"If you have an original Monome Norns, a Norns Shield or one of those fancy XL Shields, the Plinky12 just became that much more practical. There are currently three available panels, Chords, Toadstep and Blocks, each of which have their own unique functionality and musical focus. There are more panels in the works and it even seems like there will be the possibility of custom panels that users can design themselves. As if this isn’t enough, any of the Plinky12 panels can be used as a GRID controller for Norns!

So sit back and relax and enjoy these lovely scripts using Plinky12 as the controller!

Dreadbox Artemis #2 | Winterdagen

video upload by Winterdagen

"A brassy melody on the lovely Dreadbox Artemis synthesizer.

When I make a simple patch like the one here, I can really hear if I like a synth or not, and oh boy do I like the Artemis. For this patch I've made use of the lovely internal large reverb and BBD delay algorithms by Sinevibes, and towards the end the piece I slowly fade in the detuned second oscillator. I noticed I really love detuning the oscillators from each other on Artemis, which is not something I like doing on every synth, but on Artemis it just sounds sooo good!"
