1.SynthfestUK 24: Knobula - Synth Modules and Toy Pianos
At SynthfestUK 2024, we met up again with Jason, who gaves us the updates in the world of Knobula. On display was the new 'dark mode' Poly Cinematic module, for more monochrome rigs ;-]
2. SynthFestUK 24: PWM - More Mantis News
At the show we made a beeline for the PWM stand, where Paul gave us the latest Mantis news.
And yes, it's out there in the world now!
3. SynthfestUK 24: Roland Unveils the Juno-D Series with Zen-Core Sound
We caught up with Andrew and Ludwig who showed us around the new updated Juno-D series: Juno-D6, D7, and D8. They have the same keyboard action as the Fantom-O series and a new colour screen, making it easier for performers to navigate on stage. And they can be powered by a USB-C mobile battery, perfect for buskers ;-) Running Roland's Zen-Core sound engine, they also incorporates features like a 64-step sequencer and a phrase pad for live sample triggering.
Prices range approximately from £949 to £1199.

Analogue Solutions Introduces the TC5000 - ARP 2500 Inspired Synthesizer

video upload by sonicstate

"Tom's stand is hard to miss, always something massive and/or impressive to catch your attention ;-]

This year it's the turn of the TC5000, a synthesizer drawing inspiration from the ARP2500 with a patch matrix system along the lines of those he has developed since the Vostok. The TC5000 has a unique mix of circuits - compiled from years of development in products like the Fusebox and Colossus - and its user interface, for ease of patching across upper and lower matrices.

With a host of modules, including oscillators, filters, sequencers, and dual spring reverbs, Tom plans to provide a comprehensive package, with potential expansions through additional "wings" or systems.

Price is expected to be in the £22K range, available towards the end of the year"

This one is in via Soviet Space Child.

via Analogue Solutions:

"ANALOGUE PATCH PIN MATRIX SYNTH

This product is so new, we haven’t even finished this web page!

The selection of modules that will be configured in the final system will differ from the pre-production unit features in the current photographs.

WE ARE TAKING PRE-ORDERS NOW (DEPOSIT REQUIRED).
ETA TOWARDS THE END OF THE YEAR.

This is not an ARP2500 clone! TC5000 ustilises Analogue Solutions’ own circuits. Some are adapted from our other stunning synthesizers, like Leipzig, Telemark and Fusebox. Plus some new designs especially for this synthesizer.

TC5000 features two full width patch pin matrix panels that provide the same kind of UI experience that made the ARP2500 so incredible.

Using TC5000 for sounds design will give you a similar experience to the ARP. User interface is a very important aspect of sound design. It really isn’t all about the filter. How you interact with a synth is equally important. Different UI and working approaches means you will come up with patches you might otherwise not have come across using say, patch leads."

Additional systems based on the 2500:

CMS 2500
MOS-LAB 2500
Behringer 2500

Full score walkthrough using Noise Engineering effects and processing plugins

video upload by Noise Engineering

"Our friend Owen Nathanael ‪@owenathanael‬ walks us through a cue breakdown of his piece, 'Sacrifice,' which he modified slightly for this Noise Engineering plugin demo.

0:00 Intro
0:40 Playthrough
2:57 Using Imitor
8:10 Using Desmodus
11:40 Using Polydactyl
15:05 Using Librae
18:20 Using Ruina
19:52 Wrap

This cue is primarily composed with acoustic instruments in mind but with some audio effects. You can transform some of these sounds to be more synth-like and complement that orchestral texture.

Are you an orchestral composer who is afraid to use synths but still wants your music to sound cool? This video is for you.

Noise Engineering plugins Owen covered:
Imitor delay plugin: https://noiseengineering.us/products/...
Desmodus reverb plugin: https://noiseengineering.us/products/...
Polydactyl multi-band processor plugin: https://noiseengineering.us/products/...
Librae mid-side processing plugin: https://noiseengineering.us/products/...
Ruina distortion plugin: https://noiseengineering.us/products/...

Vocals: Adriana Corredor
Trumpet: Michelle Lai
Trombone: Nicholas Rozzell
Violins: Anika Thomas, Ava Chen, Peiran Zhao
Violas: Jing Su, Kaedyn Colton, Patrick Kwong
