"A hands-on demo of PLICATA, my first instrument in the Trambustissimo family.

PLICATA is a compact patchable monophonic synth for iOS, available as a standalone instrument and AUv3. It combines a morphing VCO, independent interval SUB oscillator, wavefolder, resonant filter, modulation, a 28-point patch system, microtonal XY keyboard, MIDI/MPE, complete-state presets, and a 32-step performance arpeggiator with probability, ratchets, HOLD/FILL, mutation, freeze and recallable scenes.

PLICATA is the first of six independently developed Trambustissimo instruments inspired by classic Moog instruments and workflows. The wider project also includes TACTA, a six-voice percussion instrument inspired by the Nord Drum 2's six-channel architecture and expanded around deeper synthesis, sequencing and performance.

Manfred Fricke built it by hand in Berlin in 2014, while the rest of the synth industry went digital. Raw, discrete analog. Pure voltage. Few were built, and most never left the studios they landed in.

We sampled all of it. 16,884 ultra-deep (UDS™) multi-samples, four custom CAF models, and over 110 programs by Chimy and Tro//z Folmann.

Monophonic in Berlin. Polyphonic in Soundpaint. At heart a bass synth, it turns out to have a sweet side once it can play chords: cinematic arps, expressive keys, soaring leads and pads.

"Brad Holland, the founder and chief developer from Isla Electronics (islaelectronics.com) and his team are developing a VST plugin based on the famous Alesis Andromeda A6. The beta phase is currently underway. I’ve already had a chance to try out the beta version and have designed a sound pack for the 'Asyx' based on my 'Moviescore' sound pack for the original Andromeda.

MDSYN is Stigma Audio's 16-track synthetic percussion sequencer: every sound is synthesized in real time. It is a reinterpretation, not an emulation — no firmware, no ROM, its own engine.

This video is a single live take: a run through twenty presets, pattern switching on the fly, a look at the FX, SYNTH and ROUT pages, track mutes, step pages, save and reload, and the delay and reverb sends. When the knobs move on their own, they are being played from an LPD8 controller over MIDI CC.

This plugin comes from my personal collection. Maybe I'll release it one day, but probably not in this design. It is a personal project, not affiliated with or endorsed by any hardware manufacturer; all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
