No Mouse, No Menus, Just Pure Jamming | 1601 Sequencer

video upload by Behringer

"Introducing a Sequencer that set's your musical spirit free, no menu diving, no mouse clicking, just pure unadulterated Jamming. Join Patrick as he gets into this incredible new Behringer Sequencer."

You might remember Behringer teasing the 1601 back in 2021.

Pics and details via Perfect Circuit

"Bring the power of one of history's most legendary sequencers into your modern setup with the 1601 Sequencer from Behringer, a flexible CV and MIDI sequencer with desktop or Eurorack functionality. This sequencer maintains the same layout and versatile performance capabilities as the original while expanding its design to interact with MIDI and Eurorack CV ranges. There are sixteen steps in total which can be used sequentially, or in a split mode for functionality as two discrete eight-step sequencers. Each step of the sequencer provides a three-position switch which correlates to the three corresponding CV gate outputs for easily crafting multi-part sequences. An additional gate output has been included, which adds AND logic to the first switch position, allowing you to create accents for your sequences without any additional programming required. Modulate your sequences in real time with the FM and Pulse Width sliders and CV inputs, allowing you to affect the sequencer speed and gate length respectively. There are a variety of CV outputs to choose from to get the most out of your sequences, including both quantized and unquantized CV outputs, which can be used simultaneously. The unquantized version outputs raw 0V to 10V depending on the position of the slider on the current step, while the quantized output produces a two-octave voltage range for use with 1V/Oct inputs. Both the quantized and unquantized outputs are split into A and B sections, giving you the same exact functionality when splitting the sequencer into dual eight-step operation.

Included with the 1601 is a powered enclosure for desktop use, but it can be removed and installed in a Eurorack case as an 80hp module for seamless integration into your system. In addition to the 5-pin MIDI output on the front panel, the enclosure includes 5-pin MIDI input and thru, along with a USB jack for sequencing your USB-MIDI compatible gear and software. If you crave the hands-on playability of an analog sequencer, the 1601 Sequencer from Behringer brings the best of the past and present into one versatile sequencer.

A practical Frequency Modulation (FM) synthesis tutorial using Korg Opsix.

"A practical Frequency Modulation (FM) synthesis tutorial using Korg Opsix.

It's presented by synth sound designer and touring musician, Dean Walliss, who programmed some of the factory presets that shipped with the initial Opsix release, and later the v2.0 release.

Although the video features Opsix, a lot of the info applies to Yamaha Montage/MODX, Elektron Digitone, and various software FM synthesisers as well."
