YouTube via MediaArtTube — May 17, 2010 — "'Light Frequency Fingertips' is composed of four fingercaps, each containing light sensitive phototransistors. The fingercaps (made of bicycle tubes) are especially customized for the thumb and forefinger of both hands, and transform light frequencies into acoustic signals. Light, emitted by the displays of activated mobile phones, functions as the origin of the sounds. As each mobile phone's display generates a different light frequency, each results in an audio signal with a different pitch. In addition, other electronic devices, such as flashing bicycle lights, can be used to generate rhythmic tones.
Performance: If the sensors are connected to 3 volt button cell batteries and the stereo jack is plugged into an amplifier, it's time to play! Any subtle movement of the fingertips creates a slightly audible change in sound. Fading and mixing is also done by moving the fingers. Naturally some mobile phones switch into sleep mode while others stay active, so this adds a extended visual feature to the performance. In order to avoid interference or a disturbing hum, the instrument should be used in dark environments. More info: http://www.robertmathy.com/lightfrequ..."

"I am the original owner of this vintage Minimoog Serial # 8337. I bought it back in 1975 and it was featured on the synth solo and bass part of the 1979 hit single “ Keep on Dancin’” by the band Gary’s Gang, that I was a part of."

"Simmons SDS EPB Digital Sampler & EPROM Blower. You can sampler your own sounds and then burn them to eproms to use in old analog drum machines. Imagine still using your old analog drum machine with any sounds you wont. modern, analog, voice, synth, anything. fairly rare item. Have never seen on eBay before. I am the second owner of this machine. used this successfully with a simmons sds1. great fun. just dont have the sds1 anymore."

This monophonic synthesizer with 3 oscillators is a modern musical instrument. If a player uses different musical effects (for example three-part unison, timbral glissando, frequency vibrato, timbre tremolo, decay, attack, strings.) a composition would sound in a new fashion. Sounding may be changed during the playing as well as timbre: special controls are provided for it. There is a possibility to record sounding on a tape during playing composition. This instrument can be successfully used in a variety ensembles. The elegent package made out of aluminium alloy and is covered with artificial leather. It is well protected by the light and firm case.

I wasn't sure if I was going to mention YouTube's anniversary, but seeing it mentioned in the description of this video, I figured I might as well. In case you didn't know, today is the five year anniversary of YouTube. I didn't realize how close it was to the five year anniversary of MATRIXSYNTH (the blog version that is) which is coming up on July 10. When I first started the blog, any video featuring a synth on YouTube went up. Same for Flickr shots. It's amazing how far things have come. Without YouTube and now Vimeo, we'd be missing out on so many synth videos. Happy Birthday YouTube!!!
"EML 101 semi-modular synthesizer from the early 70's.Was a answer from EML aka Electrocomp to compete with the ARP 2600 and Minimoog and Roland SH-5.Is actualy hardwired with patch points like the ARP 2600,Korg MS-20/10 to have more fun and experiment with your instrument while playing."

"The TEISCO S-110F features two VCO oscillators, and extensive filtering capabilities, and features audio external input,so you can connect a guitar or suchlike!
Also Features KCV /GATE inputs AND Outputs. The 110F has a transistor ladder filter. This filter was a great invention of Bob Moog. The circuit is constructed by transistors connected like a ladder. This circuit is used in lot's of Moog synths, through '60s Modular till '80s Memorymoog and is famous for the fat sound, hover people say the sound of the 110F is more like an. Arp 2600 with the 4012 filter and the Fairlight CMI, and it's additive synthesis section."
