This is a reinterpretation of the Pigments part I played for 'This Path Has No End' track from my latest album, “Realm of Silence”, available on Bandcamp 👉https://albaecstasy.bandcamp.com

Played in real time here, with the Prophet REV2 (if it matters somehow!) as controller, what you hear is what you can get out of the Arturia Pigments.

You know me: I'm surrounded all the time by analog and VA, digital, FM, wavetable - whatever synths, but, from time to time, I like to explore virtual goodies like this one. Because it's not important what you use to obtain a sound, but the result. And Arturia makes really nice virtual synthesizers, easy to integrate into a hybrid mix of instruments.

This #ambient track would be the first, quite simple (but expressive - thanks to the grid's sensitivity!) tune I made on my first day, on the #Polyend - Dreadbox #Medusa.

If you find the solo play a little bit out of tune it’s because of two reasons: I’m still getting use to play on the pads, but more important is that I set to the X axis the pitch bend so I can play vibrato. Since I not always pressing exactly in the middle of the pad, this is the result. For the moment!
Because, man! I love this grid! X,Y, Z sensitive, wow! I’m not even detailing about those 6 oscillators, 5 LFO and 5 envelopes and all the goodies!
This box is made for ambient, no doubt!

Delay - Waves H-Delay
Reverb - Eventide Blackhole.

The Arturia MatrixBrute and the Prophet REV2 are awakening in me the spirit of the 70's!

The fact that #MatrixBrute and also REV2 are not keeping their tempo really accurate (and the fact that I sync them manually, not interconnected), in time this is going to produce a nice little rhythmic mess, and it's like producing some early Berlin School tracks.

The Sequential Prophet REV is running two separate sequences ( split mode) and the MatrixBrute is running on the Duo Split mode.

Hope you'll enjoy this track as much as I enjoyed performing it!

Arturia MatrixBrute - A Vintage Glimpse (one synth song)

I wasn't in such good terms with the MicroBrute, but now, the ladder filter of the MatrixBrute puts me in a state of ecstasy 😁 😜 (pun intended!).

This track/video is based on two previous recorded tracks: a sequence and a bass line and a "live" recorded pad/lead - all custom #ambient #patches.

I just wanted to depict a (simple and short) Berlin School track of the 70's-ish, entirely made with the MatrixBrute. The sequence that ends the track is a crazy one: the LFO2 is modulating the delay's rate, LFO2 is modulated by the LFO1 - modulated as well by ENV3! Whaaat?!

Yes, this is how this monster runs!

The ratcheting effect on the bass line is obtained by manually switching the pattern from 1/16 to 1/32.

A little bit EQ and mix for more headroom, but the character of MatrixBrute is all in there!

"Starting from an #ambient custom patch I made for the #NovationPEAK (soon on https://www.albaecstasy.ro), I just tweaked the filter and the delay parameters. Added from time to time some noise, increased the resonance and... that's all!
All internal effects, no EQ.

A very simple old Berlin School, starting with a static pad/drone from Roland JP-08 (with some ping-pong Waves H-Delay).

Novation Peak is playing the other pad part and later, the Roland JU-06 (with H-Delay as well) comes with a nice&warm sequence.
