Blacet 2100 VCO +or 1 Octave Shift mostly monotone

Published on Feb 14, 2013 Nicholas Keller

"I decided to run the 1V/Oct MAQ16/3 sequence to an A-156 Dual Quantizer to a manual switch before routing it to the Blacet 2100 VCO input. This way the pattern could focus on the root note and the Octave Shift. I switch back and forth between straight one-note sequence and the Octave Shift so you can hear the difference. Transposing of the one-note rhythm begins at about 4m08s. The Octave Shift is modified by a Ramp LFO with reset."

Blacet 2100 VCO +or 1 Octave Shift w Joystick control

Published on Feb 14, 2013

"Have a listen to 'Take My BreathAway' (Mylo Remix) by The Knife. At around the 2 minute mark, it almost sounds like Mylo is changing the Octave setting of whatever synth is being used while the sequence is running. I imagined I could do this using the Blacet VCO's +/-1 Octave input and a bi-polar joystick like a Doepfer A-174.

My version uses samples from the original, but I reprogrammed the synth line to play from my modular using the Blacet 2100 VCO, an A-115 Audio Divider, and with +/-1 Octave control from a joystick."

Original Analogue Systems Sorcerer Prototype with Moog Keyboard MIDI Interface

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"Analogue Systems Sorcerer, fantastic analog modular synthesizer, to consider very rare today because out of production from many years.

All the fitted modules can be patched for a voice albeit without a vca.
Power supply can take 14 AS modules and 8 Doepfer style

This is the unique rare original Analogue Systems Sorcerer prototype with Moog keyboard interface v.2 inside, and comes with an assortment of modules: of course a Wheel Controller (a bit reminiscent of OSCar styling), RS-230 CV buffer, RS-220 X-Y Joystick controller, RS-600 Octave Doctor, RS-80 VC-LFO, RS-95 VCO, RS-100 Low Pass Filter, RS-60 Envelope Generator, and RS-300 CV/MIDI Converter. It has the latest professional power supply installed.

The System working well, all the modules work perfectly apart very few pots a bit dusty. But there are two faults: 1-the solid wood case has a split on the right-hand top end cheek (small so can be repaired easily) 2- the RS-300 midi module is not connected, not enough time for test it well so I prefer to sell it as seen in the picture, 100% complete of its boards and components of course."

The BENJOLIN Explained (w/ sound demo) #TTNM

Published on Nov 12, 2014

2nd video below.

"Wanna know more about this BENJOLIN instrument thing? Then watch this video demo!

Chaos, noise, drones and sweet music, all from one device!

The Benjolin is an instrument designed by Rob Hordijk and built and modified by a lot of DIYers, as well as some synth manufacturers. I explain the Benjolin's basics with a Klangbau Köln Benjolin Eurorack module. Don't worry though, you will easily understand all other versions as well, after watching this video.

The cool thing about the Benjolin is, that it has some amazing feedback loops built in, which can be used to modulate the sound to the Moon and back ... well, some people say "to Hell and back" ... you decide. There is also the famous Rungler circuit of Rob Hordijk, which generates random, looping or evolving CV sequences via a shift register design (similar to the Turing Machine Eurorack module).

It's tons of fun!

Noise Rack Diary #06: Benjolicious! - #TTNM

Published on Nov 12, 2014

"Installed a Klangbau Köln Benjolin Eurorack module. It's crazy! Crazy good!

The Benjolin plays a locked sequence at first. It is sent through the Tube VCA for some nice distortion and mixed with the XR-VCO's sine wave output. The XR is modulated by the qVCF's self-oscillating low pass output. The XR's 1V/oct input receives the Benjolin's Rungler CV. There are also two LFOs and the joystick, modulating the XR, qVCF and tube VCA.

Published on Jul 23, 2014 Strange UFO Music

"Added a Doepfer A101-2 Low Pass Gate, Vactrol filter. Can be used as filter and/or a vca. Has a mode that's inspired by the Buchla 291 Low Pass module.

My modular is currently under construction, adding a third row. But adding a new row usually means changing the previous row (see as pictured). recorded live on stereo tracks, no overdubs on this one. Patch used as pictured. "This is a unique modification of the Doepfer A174 Joystick module (purchased new before modification). The mod incorporates a 5 Pin Din cable which extends the original joystick from its installed position. The joystick is re-placed into a handy enclosure and allows distant tabletop operations (cable is about 1 meter long)."

Live Modular Expression: Cello Patch

Live Modular Expression: Cello Patch from thijs de vlieger on Vimeo.

"i've been looking at getting a french connection or a roli seaboard, but can't justify the price. so i decided to see what i can do expression wise with a keyboard and my intellijel planar joystick. i tried to make a cello patch using braids's bowed mode, and it came out pretty nice i think!

played it live, no editing, line signal recorded straight into the camera.

soundcloud downloadable audio:
https://soundcloud.com/thijsnoisia/live-modular-expression-cello-patch

patch details for the illuminati:

planar x-axis going into cv mixer, only mixed in a little.

minibrute v/oct into maths for portamento, into cv mixer, on 100%.

cv mixer out into braids v/oct and multed to braids color.

planar y-axis multed and into mvca, braids timbre and a-124 wasp filter cutoff.

braids on BOWD mode, output to wasp filter. wasp freq at 13h30, just easing off the highest freqs. wasp output to mvca.

mvca to behringer vd400 (great bbd delay) and tc trinity on spring verb.

rhythm is by roland aira tr8, triggered by pamela's workout in euclidean. delay on tr8 is the built in delay with some step on/off programming in the sequence. tr8 is the master clock, clocking pam by audio: rimshot every 8th note out into doepfer 143-1 comparator, comparator then clocks pam's sync. the synth on the 1 is the aira tb-3 through the aira vt-1, into the the tr-8's sidechained input."

Doepfer A100 Custom Suitcase Analog Modular Synthesizer System

Published on Jan 6, 2014 MarkJenkinsMusic·30 videos

via this auction

"3 VCO, 5 LFO, VC Delay and Trautonium Ribbon Controller System

This is my incredible custom portable Doepfer A100 modular analog synthesiser system, probably the most powerful it's possible to build in such a compact unit.

Think of it as two separate synths - the top row like a MiniMoog with three oscillators, mixer, Lowpass Filter, Envelope and Modulation Oscillator, the bottom row more like an EMS Synthi VCS3 with four slow oscillators, white noise/random, sample & hold, portamento, a voltage controlled delay line, a custom modulation joystick and a touch sensitive ribbon controller.

The power of this system for electronic, ambient, techno, abstract and film music has to be heard to be believed. Here's my YouTube demo [above] of the actual system on sale, please watch it to the end for important information about the sale."

Ladik J-010 Joystick Module for Eurorack

via this auction - learn how to sell on eBay here

"Joystick module Ladik J-010 for eurorack / Doepfer A100 system.

Independent two outputs for axis X and Y.

Range knob for voltage amount, Offset knob for voltage offset ("centering") for both axes.

Two LEDs for every axis (easy voltage centering).

Spring centered (springs can be removed but front strong dust-protection rubber still slightly moves stick to center position so I suggest use all time centered with springs).

Industrial grade joystick.

Quality connectors made in England (no cheapo China), durable engraved panel.

Built by me the best way I know. PCB on rear side is silver coated.

If you´ll connect joystick outputs into my J-MATH J-011 module, you´ll get some math (additions and subtractions on independent outputs) and absolute value for Y-axis splitted into two outputs.

With this function you can drive for example VCF frequency at upper joystick position and LFO frequency at lower joystick position (for example).

Width: 12TE/ 12HP/ 60mm.
Depth: 55mm /2,2" max.
Current: 10mA max."

"If you have any idea for an custom module let me know. I´m preparing some further modules so stay tuned :)"
