"Legendary 80s drum machine featuring a custom 24 point patch bay and pitch control dial. The patch bay allows for the creation of wide range of warped effects from aliasing, bit crushing and distortion to metallic timbres and digital noise while the pitch dial drives the onboard sounds from crashing, rumbling lows to clicking micro sound highs. Five stackable patch cables are included. The unit functions as normal when the patch bay is not implemented.
See the youtube video demo of a similarly modded unit for a good idea of the sounds this unit can produce."

AudioThing TapeStation - Novation BassStation for Kontakt
Update: Details, download, and documentation are up on AudioThing.
Details captured here for the archives. Be sure to see AudioThing for the download and PDF. "What happens when a ’90s analog synth meets an ’80s tape recorder? We sampled a famous Analogue Bass Synth to tape using a new old stock cassette, and boxed it into a Kontakt Instrument. The original synth produced fat basses and sharp leads, but now the raw tape sounds and unstable pitch add perfect elements for “tron” like sounds. Each waveform (Sawtooth, Square, Pulse 5%) was sampled chromatically from C0 to C7 and each sample is more then 6 seconds long.
In the custom Performance View a Saturation and Limiter Input Gain are added to the original synth’s parameters.
Introduction Price: $9 (goes $12 on 24/10)
2 Oscillators (Saw, Square, Pulse 5%)
12-24dB/oct filter
1 LFO (Random, Saw, Triangle) for Pitch and Cutoff
2 Envelopes
24 Factory Presets
24 User Presets (save function within the Kontakt GUI)
Sample resolution: 44.1Khz / 24Bit
Size: 200 MB installed
Custom performance view
Native Instruments Kontakt 4.2.2 full retail version is required"
"The factory presets with suffix LC are courtesy of Luca Capozzi."

Luca Capozzi's DNA Inspired Music
"Using genetics to make music is very fun. During my researches I found that genetics algorithms are often used to create evolving patterns but, unfortunately, they do not sounds very musical. My approach is to program some Reaktor ensembles using simple yet musically effective genetic tricks to achive evolving rhythms and music patterns."
You can find the experiments here.

Apocalypse Meow
"Apocalypse Meow, second release of talented sound designer/idm artist
Luca Capozzi, features eight tracks of exciting electronic music. Here's a
brief description of tracks:
01 - Intro
The analog warmth of a Doepfer and a Moog Voyager travels together the
shiny frequencies of a digital Nord Modular G2X introducing you through
this electronic journey.
02 - Ka'tun IV
The power of genetic polyrhythmed drums with a taste of acid basslines.
The harshness of resonant filters used as solo instrument.
03 - The Prophecy
Dive yourself straight to the action with this soundtrack-style song.
Acoustic orchestration and fat basslines are melted together. A rocking
keyboard solo to fight the monster.
04 - Midnight Fog
Modeled dissonations, filter sweeps as melodic lines. Not for untrained ears.
05 - ZO-ology
An easy-to-listen electronic song.
06 - Back to A
How to play a radio transmission and enjoy your favorite soccer team.
07 - Ostreococcus OsV5
How a virus DNA will sound? Here it is. Bassline, distant echoed guitars
and swinging percussions are all generated by a virus genome. Reaktor is
the cure.
08 - Lame Walk
A jazzy walking bass meets a crazy automated breakbeat.
Gear used for Apocalypse Meow: Doepfer A-100, Moog Voyager, Clavia Nord
Modular G2X, Metasonix TX-1, Roland TR-606, Native Instruments Reaktor 5,
AAS Tassman, Logic Studio Pro, Ableton Live 7.

Cyndustries "WAR & PEACE" Winners Announced!
And... Luca Capozzi won!!! Very cool seeing someone that has contributed to this site win. Title link takes you there. BTW, I love that picture. Cynthia comes up with the best images for her site.
Update: A little background on the image via Cynthia in the comments of this post:
"Thanks for the compliment! (I really do enjoy doing the graphics for the Cyndustries web site).
Actually in this case, the image started with a postcard sent to me by my good friend Seth Nemec of Bananalogue.com in Texas. Seth sent me a postcard with the two lipstick clad Chinese Soldiers saluting as an absured gag gift, (he knows my sense of humor!) and I stuck it up on the company fridge for a few months until I had to come up with a new graphic for our War & Peace Winners... and then, "Quick, into a nearby scanner, and it's super Photoshop to the rescue!"
Thanks Seth!!
Cynthia"

Update via Luca in the comments:
"ehehe i'm glad you like it :) check also my new entries on YouTube here. Whole A-100 test video here."
Excellent. And I almost didn't post this one because I thought I had too many Flickr shots going up. You never know what you might find. Thanks Luca!

ProgSounds on YouTube
Now this is cool. Luca Capozzi of ProgSounds set up a synth specific group on YouTube. I didn't realize you could even set up groups on YouTube. He just posted the group on Synthwire. Currently there are 11 synth specific videos up. You can join and post your own, and you do NOT have to join and be a member to view the videos, so definitely check them out. Currently there are Korg MS20 and Nord Modular G2X videos up. Title link takes you there.

Sanctuary - New Flickr Shot
Shot by Luca Capozzi. I saw this shot and the first thing that came to mind was how un-Moogy a Roland JP8080 was. I thought of perspectives on how Roland has not come out with something innovative in years, how "digital" the JP8080 was, and how far away from the mighty moog analog sound it was. A lot of people see Roland and their digital synths as the anithesis of Moog. Then I saw the title of the shot, and I remembered how Bob described himself. He described himself as a tool-maker who made wonderful musical instruments for people to enjoy; magical instruments at that. There is no doubt in my mind that a JP8080 is capable of bringing this magic to its owners. Bob brought synthesis to the mainstream, making it affordable and accessible. This shot forces you to see that. A shot of the Roland JP8080, the magic synthesis brings and respect to Bob.

Axiom's GX7 - DX7 to G2 Conversion Tool
Now this is pretty cool. Luca Capozzi created a tool that lets you upload any DX7 sysex bank into your Clavia G2 Modular. The tool comes with the original DX7 ROM1a bank. Title link takes you there.
Introduction
How many times you have desired to convert your old Yamaha DX7 sounds to your new Clavia Nord Modular G2? Clavia gave us a good starting point, including FM Operators and a DX Router as modules. Each parameter is here, ready to be tweaked to achive our beloved DX sounds. But how tedious is tweak all those parameters manually? People starts asking for a tool that helps G2 users to load Yamaha patches into their new G2 synthesizer but, until now, nothing was created. This tool let you load any Yamaha DX7 SysEx bank and let you send patch parameters as Midi CC# to your G2 synthesizer. There are some limitations that don’t let us to send all parameters at once. DX7 parameters are over 150 while G2 usable Midi CC are less then 120. The workaround is to send parameters one Operator per time, doing some hand work on your G2 Editor.

Jarrelook Lazer Harp - via SYNTHOSIUM
Update: Lame on me. It's Jarrelook's Lazer Harp, not JMJ's. Jarrelook is a JMJ tribute band. Nice lazer harp.
Sent to me by Luca Capozzi of Naples Italy. He just set up his new blog on you guessed it, synths and music. Very, very cool. I also announced the site on SYNTHWIRE. BTW, don't forget to use SYNTHWIRE! It's meant for stuff like this. Posting about your site and your work is exactly what it should be used for. It can be anything you want it to be as long as it's focused on synthesis and music. Use it to promote yourself already! Anywho. I can't wait to see what Luca starts posting. Congrats on the new blog, Luca! Title link takes you there. P.S. Obviously I love your site design. ; )

Guitar Synth
Luca Capozzi sent this awesome site to me. I thought it wasn't on topic enough to post until I got to the lessons section. Then I realized, hey, it's sample playback using my computer keyboard to play. Good enough of an excuse for me to post this. Title link takes you there. Enjoy. : )
