Spectralis as an advanced FX unit (Tutorial)

video upload by MIDERA

"What you hear at the beginning is what I end up doing towards the end of the video - I'll set a timestamp for that at some point.

In my first edition of this video, my camera turned off due to a 'full disk' and I had to start over after recording 22 minutes. I was told during my previous video to just go fast and skip the Spectralis 101 type stuff.
My apologies on going slow to explain things. Sometimes my brain doesn't remember words and there's a lot to talk about.

So just a few notes to keep clear:
There are 3 different filters in the Spectralis.
1) 24db LP filter
2) 12db MM filter (includes a LP, HP, and BP filter)
3) Fixed Filterbank (FF)

External input sounds can be routed to ANY of these, and in almost any order. Theoretically, you can send a sound into the LP filter through to the FF and send it back to the LP. You'll just get feedback, obviously, but it can be done.

Hope this is of interest.

Sequencing a Univox Minikorg 700S [Demo #3] Using KVP + Beatstep Pro

Published on Oct 22, 2019 gstormelectro

G-Storm Electro on Reverb

Audio and Video by G-Storm Electro c. 2019

Third video on the Univox Minikorg.
This Minikorg has been modified to take an external pitch CV + gate signal.
It expects pitch in hz/v and lo-active gates.
While the Beatstep Pro can do it - it's a global setting.
Using my KVP module to convert the signals, it means I don't need to mess w/ the BSP globals whenever I hook up a Korg product.

Mixing 5U Modular Tech With Tape Delay & Ensoniq ASR-10 Sampler

Published on May 24, 2018 The Daydream Sound

"Adding tape delay to your setup is old school and it’s fun and unique. In this video we’ll combing vintage technology (Analog Tape & Ensoniq ASR-10) With a modern analog synth. Well I guess it’s definitely old tech as well. Do I even have a point here? Anyway watch the video. It’s great!

Video Timestamp
00:03 - Preamble.
00:43 - Demo begins.
01:04 - The two oscillators are being sent to its analog filter and modulated by the EG.
02:16 - Oscillator 2 modulates the pulse with of oscillator 1.
03:15 - Analog Tape Delay begins.

For those interested. Here follows the patch. The ASR-10 is driving the MIDI to the Modular system. Its audio is also being fed to the Instrument Interface of the modular. Moving on to the Synthesizers.com system. The two oscillators are being sent to its analog filter and modulated by the EG. Later on in the video you’ll see that I take one of the oscillator outputs of the second oscillator and use it to modulate the pulse with of the first oscillator. Lastly the both the dotcom system and the ASR-10 are sent to a Macke mixer. This is where the tape delay is being created. If you want to know how to create Tape Delay here’s the video:"

Live Factory Rack Performer 0.97-alpha is released

via Live Factory
"A long time has elapsed since the last release, but this new version marks a new milestone. With 51 new modules to play with, and even more in preparation, things are getting serious. And this is only the beginning...

As engine is becoming very stable we can now focus on the application content itself. There is no major new feature in this release, but instead we added a lot of modules, many improvements and some fixes.

We hope that the RoboControl LFO and the various RemoteControl, routing and switching modules will show you a glimpse of the kind of modular capacities Rack Performer has, while keeping the complexity at a minimum.

All these new modules are of course multi-channel compliant (the 4x1 matrix for instance, has up to 4 x 8-channels inputs etc)

Here's the list of what has changed. We hope you'll enjoy this new version.

New modules:
RoboControl LFO (modulate any parameter in the patch)
PopupDesign x8 GUI wrapper
PopupDesign x4 GUI wrapper
PopupDesign Compact GUI wrapper
16x16 Matrix Mixer (mix 16 sources to 16 destinations)

Black Magic Loop Generator VSTi for Windows

"Black Magic is a unique loop workstation with the ability to generate diverse loops with a single mouse click. Furthermore a loop can instantly be recorded out to WAV, automatically named by BPM and timestamp. The idea developed to make sample based loops an easy and fun process, as loop creation is generally a time consuming process. Black Magic can also be used as a standard midi drum machine and also has the ability to jam with the individual sequences in real time. It has 10 Samplers each with its own sequencer and many adjustable parameters. It uses standard WAV files and ships with a large library of samples, but users can easily add their own. There is also a solid FX section which includes a Compressor/Limiter, Delay, SoundScaper, Flanger/Filter and Drive as well as many Modulation options including randomizers, a Modulation sequencer and an LFO." more info at http://www.hgsounds.com/

Admin: You Might Have Missed Some Posts

Just a heads up that you might have missed a number of posts yesterday, 9/18. All of the timestamps for posts were stuck at 9:59 AM yesterday. This is a problem with Blogger and does not appear to be affecting all blogs. I checked the Blogger help group and others are seeing the same problem.

Why might you have missed some posts? I have the number of posts set to ten per page. When you get to the bottom of the page you click Older Posts to get to the next ten and so on. Well, because of the timestamp issue, when you clicked Older Posts the resulting page did not bring up the next ten posts but instead jumped to posts for 9/17. Posts after the 10th latest post for 9/18 were getting dropped.

To fix this, I went back and manually updated every single post yesterday with a new timestamp that kept the order in which they went up. The Older Posts link now works as expected. If you want to be sure you did not miss anything, I'd go back and review all posts dated 9/18/2008.
