R.A. Mini Moog synthesizer Model D extremely rare made in March 1971

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

This one was spotted and sent in via M Me.

via this auction

"Up for sale is a (1) very rare R.A. Mini Moog synthesizer Model D. The serial number is 1045, it's the 45th Mini Moog on the planet and it's manufactured in March 1971. All boards have serial number 1045 except the vco board which has serial 1043. Jim Scott, who worked with Robert Moog in Trumansburg N.Y., told a friend of mine that it was messy in the beginning days of the factory. It was quite normal that synths left the factory with different numbers on the boards inside. The most important thing is that the boards are all R.A. Moog ones. Someone installed cv / gate inputs a couple of years ago, so it's not fully original anymore unfortunately. But the cv / gate is working fine.

The synthesizer sounds absolutely awesome! The oscillators are very raw and the filter is way better than on newer Minimoog synthesizers.

The synth is just been serviced and in perfect working condition. It's running on 220v and there is an European plug installed to the lead."

MS 2600 NG Series 009 DIY ARP 2600 w/ Keyboard by hr.matthias beese

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

This one was spotted and sent in via M Me.

Listing translation via Google: "You are bidding on an MS 2600 NG series 009 - a very, very good (ingenious) rare arp 2600 clone with extended features (NG stands for NEW generation) - the condition of the ms 2600 ng is good - the specially developed keyboard or keyboard is as good as new (once unpacked, connected and tested) - the developer or builder hr. matthias beese has practically built all his heart and soul and know-how into these devices - the result is a hammer device with a hammer sound and an infinite number of features (wavetables, sequencers, connection options, etc etc, etc. , also thanks to the keyboards specially developed for the synth .....

Of course, this is a self-made system, i.e. DIY. the keyboard was completely set up by mr. matthias beese himself, the synth by a trained electronics technician. if you are looking for something special, far from the mainstream, you will get your money's worth here.

To list all the features here would be too much of a good thing. if you are interested, please go to the homepage of the developer hr.matthias beese.

here you can call up the individual components, structure, list of features and much more.

Here you are bidding on the synth and the associated keyboard and associated accessories (power supply).

Further information, sound samples (you tube or org. homepage), links including an interview with the developer can also be found on the amazona.de homepage.

if you have serious questions or offers please email .... on request I can send more pictures (interior, etc.)

since private sale no liability or guarantee.

Since the system is determined to be over 40 kilos and very difficult to pack or send, only self-collection.

In addition, it makes sense to take a look at or (test) the whole thing yourself. :-)

purchase price amount is to be paid when picking up (do not offer any further payment options)

Jurgen Haible - Living Vocoder Custom Build

This one was spotted on Muff's from JanneI and sent in via M Me.

Jurgen Haible started work on the design back in 2009, prototype boards came in 2010, and he unfortunately passed away in 2011. His site is gone, however I was able to find his page on the Living Vocoder at the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine here.

"The Filterbank funktion will have 3 modes:

1) On
The Filterbank will always be mixed with the vocoded sound, acording to how you set the Filterbank sliders.

2) Off
Basic Vocoder function

3) Silence Bridging
The Filterbank function will fade in when there is no speech. So there is always a coloured Excitation signal. While you speak, the colour is set by the speech. When you don't speak, the colour is set by the 20 Filterbank sliders. This allows a seamless blend of ariticulated and non-articulated sound.
You can set the threshold - how many dBs down the speech signal is, before the filterbank is engaged -, and the attack and release time of the filterbank fade in/out, with 3 potentiometers.

Capacitors

I have reduced the expensive, 1% capacitors to two values: 10nF and 47nF.
That way, you can buy them in larger quanities and they won't be that expensive.
You will need about 150 pieces of 47nF 1% and 150 pieces of 10nF 1%.
They are available at www.rs-components.de , order number 169-326 and 166-6421 (These are bags of 10 pieces.)
You'll need a lot of other capacitors as well, of course, butthese can be 5% tolerance - not so hard to source."

You can find additional details and links to schematics here.

The Rare Welsh Minimoog Model E Synthesizer

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

This one was spotted and sent in via M Me. You can find a few in previous posts here. There was a period when Moog went out of business and Bob Moog ran Big Briar. Two individuals grabbed the Moog name, Don Martin (Donimoog) in the US and Alex Winters in the UK / Wales.

Google translated from this German listing:

"For sale is a rare collector's item, a Minimoog Model E.

Only about 3-5 of these were built. The manufacturer was Moog by Alex Winter from Wales. When Bob Moog lost the naming rights to his original company in the USA, Alex Winter from Wales bought it for Europe and built a handful of Minimoogs. The condition is very good, except for a scratch on the panel in the right control panel.

It has the same features as the Minimoogs from the USA, but also has PWM for the oscillators and has MIDI.
The sound is absolutely identical to the other Minimoogs.

The buyer can look forward to a well-kept, very rare device, which has the advantage of being significantly younger than the old Moogs and can be integrated into a modern setup due to the midi connection.

I took over the device from a friend who owns a large collection of synthesizers, who bought the device through the company 'Touched-by-Sound'."

Simmons Digital Clap Trap w/ Original Box, Manual & Gated Snare & Wood Block Mod?

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

This one was spotted and sent in via M Me.

Pic of the inside below.

"Simmons Digital Clap Trap
original boxed & manual & 3 eproms
(with “Gated Snare, wood block & surprise :-”)

Something that rarely comes up especially with the mod on this version. This is a genuine Simmons unit which was adapted to include a ZIF ("zero insertion-force") socket and a removable panel so the chips could be swapped without unscrewing the whole case. This one is loaded with a Gated Snare chip – sounds superb working on the fly!
If you're looking for interesting synth snare sounds and noise hits, look no further. This is a simple unit, allows you to balance between a gated snare and noise sound which is controlled/manipulated by an analogue circuit.. Pitch and decay adjust for each sound. Very nice sound and surprisingly useful for such a simple device. You can trigger it from an external trigger or audio input, manual trigger button or use the auto-trigger mode (with adjustable speed). The humanizer feature alters the pitch of the snare. To hear the humanizer, use manual trigger and play it very quickly.

fully functional and in nice condition !
original box and manual included, 220V."

ROLAND CN-20 Music Entry Pad SN ZA92755 w/ Original Box & Manuals

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

This one was spotted and sent in via M Me. See this post for some pics of the matching CM-64, and CF-10.

Goolish description:

"This is a very cool and ultra-rare MIDI controller. It comes with everything shown in the photos, including the instruction manual, original box and power adapter. It is in excellent condition and each membrane button is fully functional.

The user can program MIDI chords, even ones that are very difficult to execute, with a simple push of a button or two. It can also be used for live performances, especially if you're a crap keyboard player like me. I mostly play guitar!

The leftmost slider can be mapped to the following:
control
Scope
Pan
modulation
bender
After touch
Just press the button between the list of destinations and the slider. simple stuff.

The rest is very self-explanatory. Just look at the front panel. It's pretty much one button per function."

Vintage Kawai R-7 Stereophonic Rhythm Machine

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

This one was spotted and sent in via M Me.

It appears to be the first one to be featured on the site. It looks more like home stereo equipment than synth gear.  Rhythms for lounge parties....

"Kawai R-7, a drumcomputer that due to its look was probably built in the 70s.

It´s obviously an extremely rare species as even long time consuming searches on the internet were unsuccessful.

The R-7 is in a beautiful shape as easily seen on the pics with only minor imperfections on the tolex and the veneer side panels. And the original "Stereo Selector" knob is missing.

After my tests I got the impression that everything works. You can choose between the different rhythms with the white switches or you could simultaneously press several switches for complex rhythms. Individual instruments or instrument groups can be activated or deactivated by the round black switches.

A nice effect is the changing colored backlight (kind of animation) while the rhythms are playing. I have never seen this feature on any other rhythm machine.

Another unusual if not unique feature is the possibility to adjust the left and right volume channel and to switch between mono and stereo - whatever it does."

Update via M Me:

"Hi Matrix, The SP2400 render picture is a fake render,if you zoom in on the picture you can see black lanes that goes in all ways. proportions of some trace planes are not possible, like from very large to one point delta. Also traces that goes to the 'big' processor/DSP comes from all sides and not the way like circuits are drawn.

100% fake"

SHERMAN FILTERBANK PROTOTYPE - #31 of 40 Made

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"One of just 40 prototype units hand-built by Herman Gillis (aka “Sherman”) in 1996. Excellent condition and full working order.

These original units did not have MIDI.

NOTE: This unit is working well but will be checked internally and tested by our techs. Shipping will be 10 working days from purchase.

According to the Sherman website just 40 of these Belgian beasts were made. No MIDI and the back “panel” is plastic plumbing pipe. No frills – all thrills.

Serial number: 31 – signed on the back by Herman!

In terms of functionality and sound it is obviously closer to the early Filterbank 1.

Very clean with almost no signs of age or use. A small amount of scratching around one screw is all we can see.
220/240v unit. A step-up transformer will be required for use on 110/120v supplies."
