The sound is phenomenol and continues to amaze us. It is a sonic symphony of nasty and grimy sweetness, endless layers of sound possibilities emenating from High quality OSC originally based on high tech speech synthesis. Seemingly random bits can be rediscovered time and time again and then there are those moments that you will most likely never rediscover. Endlessly captivating, this piece WILL provide sounds that you will not find in other synthesizers and will astonish you every time you turn it on.

This particular piece features four patchable knobs, and a twelve point magnetic patchbay. This allows you to determine function and provides tons of flexibility. In addition, two more knobs (global knob control and power kill) , glowing lamp power indicator , 2 folktek button/switches for activate and freeze mode sections, reset, 1/4" output, basic manual of function and layout. You'll be able to cipher through waveforms and textures with extreme sensitivity in thousands of ways. What's new At NAMM 2011 for Novation?

"NAMM 2011 see's Novation announce Automap 3.8 which brings tighter integration for Waves users, and the launch of the massive Golden Ticket campaign during which over $5,000 worth of special edition gold Novation, Rane and Serato gear will be given away. Novation will also be marking the global availability of the new UltraNova synthesiser.

Automap 3.8

Automap is control software that comes free with all Novation controllers. The latest update provides total integration with all Waves plug-ins - just open up a Waves plug-in and it will automatically map to Novation hardware (this will require the forth-coming Waves update). Automap runs with Novation's SL MkII and Nocturn ranges of controllers. It is universally recognised as a powerful control solution and includes features such as 'Learn' which enables instant mapping of software parameters to hardware controls.

Golden Ticket Campaign

Novation have teamed up with Rane, Serato and Loopmasters to launch the Golden Ticket campaign. "The machine is fitted with ZIF sockets for easy swapping of EPROMs (I did own a Prommer at one point) and evidently I have swapped some chips around as the 'clap' is on the 'sidestick' and 'sidestick' is on the 'cowbell'. An SCI Drumtraks kick sample is on the 'Clap'. I obviously had the need to have two kick samples rather than the cowbell - which I didn't feel the need for. I think I still have the Cowbell EPROM lying around (and maybe some other programmed chips) but I can't guarantee that I will find them. Please note that, as shown in the video, I was unable to get the Hi Conga to work. I am fairly sure this is down to the slider in the mixer section which may have come away from the track - it should be an easy fix. This machine is retro-fitted with the JL Cooper Midi interface. I haven't tested the MIDI functionality but I assume it to be working."
