The End of the Akai MPC as We Knew It?

Think about that for a bit.

It reminded me of a post I put up on the potential end of digital hardware synths back in 2012, and picked up by Synthtopia here. That was likely the one post I regretted putting up most. I called out the potential impact the iPad could have on digital hardware synths as in essence it is hardware as well.

"Quick demo of our new MIDI controller, it's a MEGCOS car dashboard toy. All the 'brains' have been disconnected and replaced with an Arduino Pro Micro, which has been programmed to listen to all the buttons & switches, and control the LEDs.
When plugged in, it turns up like any other MIDI controller or musical keyboard, and all the buttons are pressure sensitive, and the telephone handset works as an iPhone/Laptop headset!
