The DRUM8 and MONODRUM - New 4HP Drum Modules from DSP Synthesizers

"The DRUM8 4HP Module is an 8-voice polyphonic drum sample module with 8 drum sounds.

Sounds include Kick, Snare, Hihat, Tom, Clap, Cowbell, Clave and Cabasa.

Featuring 8 positive edge trig inputs it also has a global analog accent CV input with a range of +6dB to +48dB, a global Tune knob and CV for a sample rate modulation of 15% to 400% rate and a mono audio output.

It’s a great drumset in just 4HP but add the MONODRUM module below and it makes an even greater kit in only 8HP."

"The MONODRUM 4HP Module is a drum sample module with a single drum sound.
It’s purpose is to add hithat, crash or ride samples to any analog drum modules that normaly does not include these sampled sounds.

It also pairs well with our other 4HP drum modules that does not include these longer sampled sounds.

Featuring a positive edge trig input it also has an analog accent CV input with a range of +6dB to +48dB, a Tune knob and CV for a sample rate modulation of 15% to 400% rate and a mono audio output.

It is delivered with a ride sample but can of course host other samples."

Moog Mother-32, DSI Pro 2, Supernova II - sequence jam

Published on Jun 11, 2016 Seen From Space

"Making big use of performance controls on the Pro 2, in particular the Latch on slider 1. This control 'freezes' the delay, and all controls affect multiple parameters. Not just simultaneously, but AT THE SAME TIME as well!"

Novation Circuit featuring OP-1 and Electribe in Hot Food - an improv jam

Published on Jun 11, 2016 Terrible Beat

"I put these devices on a table, plugged them in and proceeded to poke them in hope for some kind of musical response.

The Circuit was in sync with the Electribe (which was providing the drums). The OP-1 was used for sampling and noodling. The Circuit does all the bass, most melodies and even some beats.

They are all great devices. I rank them in the following order:

1. Teenage Engineering OP-1: An amazing fully featured music machine. So much fun.

2. Novation Circuit: So easy to get great ideas out of a few minutes of poking about. The visualisation of the sequencer and the automatible parameters make it a powerful inexpensive device.

3. Korg Electribe synth version: 16 channels to work with, lots of nice oscillators, and FX. Sequencer can be a bit too menu heavy when you want to get detailed. A jack of most trade, but I feel it's a master of none. I enjoy it, but the 2 devices mentioned above are far more fun to use.

Don't forget to like, comment and subscribe 👍🏼"

The Sound Of Neurons

Published on Jun 10, 2016 sawsquaresine's channel

"Introducing Neuronoiz - where biochemistry, audio signal processing and art intersect! The bursting and spiking of brain cells is mathematically simulated, implemented as a sound synthesis algorithm, and then the synthesizer used to play all the parts in a short piece of music.

"Another fascinating method of sound synthesis is the 'sonification' of any natural process that displays periodicity. There are plenty of physical, chemical, biological etc processes like this - examples include coupled chemical reactions, geothermal eruptions, earthquakes, cyclical populations of predator and prey animals, and firing nerve cells.

Typically these processes are described by a differential equation or system of differential equations which are difficult, if not impossible, to find exact solutions to. For the purpose of 'listening to the processes' however, approximate solutions involving numerical methods are sufficient.

The 'sound of a firing nerve cell' is a concept which captured my imagination immediately, so that's what I've explored here. The result - NeuronoiZ"
