Circuit Bent Kawai K1m sequenced by Circuit

"I Circuit Bent this Kawai K1m e few years back, but have barely used it. So it is time to pull it out, hook it up and make some crazy noise with it! Somehow, over the years, it has developed a glitch where it has a pulsing sound with any patch that has a lot of sustain and release, so I guess you can call it perm-bent. It still is very usable, and even without any bend it sounds pretty good. The Novation Circuit is sequencing the K1m via midi. Circuit is also providing the drums."

via this auction

"This Circuit Bent Kawai K1m has 5 additional switches that create different tonalities and can SIMULATE bit crushing FX, Octaving FX, Ring Modulation, etc. THERE IS A GLITCH THAT CAUSES LONG, SUSTAINED SOUNDS TO HAVE A PULSING EFFECT TO THEM. NO MATTER THE POSITION OF THE SWITCHES. To turn off all bends, switches must be pointing to the left/outside end of case with the exception of the 2nd to bottom switch.

This synth comes from the 80's and has been user modified to have extra switches that can "scramble" the digital information that makes up the sound. The switches only affect sound, they don't affect any other operation of the unit, so it still reacts as it should and responds to midi very well."

JoMoX: XBase09 til AlphaBase - An Interview with Juergen Michaelis of JoMoX

JoMoX: XBase09 til AlphaBase from HerrSchneider on Vimeo.

"Juergen Michaelis - the head of JoMoX Berlin - giving insights of the history with HerrSchneider once entering the world of synths and drummachines roundabout 20 years ago to help Juergen as a sales rep, after they met each other in a totally different world.

Introducing the wonderful concert of Panic Girl and Jericho on Superbooth17 and showing the gig of Juergen himself with his AKAHSA synth on Superbooth16 this is quite good entertainment for all of us at least knowing the scenery nowadays or one of the products.

Still the live introduction of the ALPHABASE by the inventor himself is showing the fun he has with his own baby still nowadays as he already had 20 years ago, it should be passion."

Acting At A Distance

Published on Dec 3, 2017 davidryle

"Far Away...
A combination of keyboard synths and the modular 5U & 3U, multi-tracked to Cubase.
A simple pair of chord progressions outlined with various step sequencer parts and multiple poly sequential controllers feeding a multitude of oscillators and filters of the large format modular.
The Behringer DeepMind12 performed a few delicate arpeggios along side the Roland System 8 and JV-1080 chords.
An Intellijel Metropolis evened out the step sequencer duties with a few tracks of a simple 9/8 round in differing time counts.
All sounds were performed by the 5U. The clock was from a MIDI/dinsync source generated by Cubase and sent to the Suite & Tie Guy Time Buffer and ALM's Pamela's Workout for distribution about the modular.
Video editing in Final Cut Pro."
