Synth Spotting and an Interview with Mike Kiraly

You might recognize Mike Kiraly's name from numerous posts here on MATRIXSYNTH. He is the man behind the demo videos from synth and modular shop CONTROL in New York. If you are curious about his studio and his gear, you can find an interview with him on Attack Magazine here. It's a quick read and the interview is structured by the gear.

I just got my Transient module back from Future Retro, they have upgraded it to the Transient +! The turnaround on this was super-fast! I made a Linndrum-based instrument w/ kick/stick/hihat w/ some modulations including pitch changes. This demo also uses Basimilus and Hats909 as well. Enjoy."

"Sequential Circuits Prophet 10 Rev 3 with Midi --- In great condition! 100% functional! Looks great! Nicks here and there as seen in the photos. The left rear panel is slightly bent(previous owner) but does not effect functionality at all. Recently gone over by a qualified professional tech. Comes with 2 manuals and the US power cord. Sounds like 2 x Prophet 5s, so amazing!!"

"This beautiful synth came with lovely wooden side and front panels. Also, I put Moog like caps on all knobs. All knobs works fine, LCD is fine too (as on every CS1x, LCD is not too bright but it's totaly useble in dark environment). All outs, inputs, MIDI connections are fine. "

"Epilogue Vol 1

First load of Custom Patches I've made for the Korg Prologue, mainly Single Patches, though there are 1 or 2 Stacked/Split Sounds. It definitely has its own sound and character, which can lean towards the spirit of old Oberheim, but I wouldn't say it's a "Polite" Synth...not a "Prim and Pretty" 24db Filter...just an 'Earthy' 12db Tone that's very modern...and it's great!

I've set the Mod Wheel for changes and some Patches are set up to work with an Expression Pedal (Moog EP3 used)."
