YAMAHA CS-70M analog synthesizer - Sounds & patches 【SYNTH DEMO】

Published on Sep 22, 2018 synth4ever

"Yamaha CS-70M analog synthesizer demo. Playing sounds and patches on vintage CS 70M analog synth from Yamaha including sequencer, pads and LFO tweaks.

The Yamaha CS70M is a classic dual-channel, 6-voice polyphonic synthesizer and the last analog synth from Yamaha in the early 1980s. Although it came after the legendary Yamaha CS-50, CS-60 and CS-80 synths, the CS-70M has its own distinct tone, sounds and sonic character.

The Yamaha CS-70M has 2 oscillators per voice for a total of 12 VCOs. It also features 2 LFOs, a multimode filter (LPF/BPF/HPF), envelopes for VCF and VCA, ring modulator, chorus and tremolo effects, a 4-track real-time and polyphonic step sequencer, patch memory, 61 keys with aftertouch, and autotune.

IMO, the Yamaha CS-70M synthesizer is a beautiful instrument. It is a large and powerful synth that has a very earthy, dusty and nostalgic tone to it which can often take on acoustic/wood sound qualities.

The Yamaha CS-70M is also a very rare synth and often commands very high prices on the second hand market. Nontheless, if you have the chance to obtain a Yamaha CS-70M, I would not hesitate. It is a beautiful synth in its own right.

This Yamaha CS-70M synthesizer demo was filmed at the Vintage Synthesizer Museum in Oakland, CA. Visit them at www.vintagesynthmuseum.com"

X1L3 - MIDI to gate eurorack module + NUX timecore total conversion

Published on Sep 22, 2018 X1L3

"4HP eleven output midi to gate module.

Being used here for drum sequencing duties. Starting out with the CB55 module built with the DR55 clone pcb from circuitbenders.co.uk. An elements is tied to the midi to gate to add an air of melancholy and mid way two peaks are added to escallate the track and nail down the drum section before the track starts to drop out. The last gate is reading a continuous note on/off track from the daw to create a sync clock for the NUX timecore. I alter the time signature subtly towards the end which you can hear in both how the NUX suddenly tries to shift tempo and also the slow delay fade out in the last few bars. A simple demo really, just something to show how much this little module can do. My daw is used for the melodic backing and bass etc. Too lazy to knock it up on the rig today :P

Reads incoming date on Channel ten and responds to middle C up through the next ten notes. Not on will set a gate high and hold it until the note is released, setting the gate low again.

Countless uses for this one. Clocks for anything tap tempo enabled, sequencing duties, adsr triggering etc etc.

Also in the rig here is a NUX timecore digital delay guitar pedal converted to eurorack with homebrew pcb and panel test pieces made on my 3040 cnc router.. It now has input and output buffers to make it suitable for euro level signals and a gate input on the front panel which allows you to engage and disengage the effect or send a clock to it to sync thetap tempo. Really cool delay with loads of modes and a decent sound. The CB 55 drums are fed through this throught the demo. A total conversion kit is underway for anyone wanting to mod their own :)"

Birth of a Patchulator 8000 8-Channel Mini Patchbay

Published on Sep 22, 2018 Boredbrain Music

Some Benny Hill for you...

"Things got silly as we worked at ludicrous speed to get Patchulator orders hipping once again!

ABOUT THE PATCHULATOR 8000 8-CHANNEL MINI PATCHBAY:
The Patchulator 8000 8-Channel Mini Patchbay, Boredbrain's solution to pedalboard and desktop instrument signal routing, lets users re-order audio effects easily, swap effects between instruments, and experiment with signal flow. The compact octagonal design houses 16 1/4' jacks on the perimeter and 16 1/8" jacks on top, which allow the patching of 8 independent send/return loops."

RK-002 gets the Digitakt Polyphony and Euclid generator

Published on Sep 22, 2018 Retrokits

"A little walkthrough on our new RK002/DUY which adds polyphony and an Euclid generator to the Elektron Digitakt.

This firmware is better suitable for people using the Digitakt in standalone mode instead of the 'legacy' /MOD firmware. (And that's not only because of the added Euclid generator).

The initial RK-002/MOD with polyMUX polyphony used in loopback on Digitakt is a kind of a 'hack'. This can still be regarded as such but we reduced the chance of MIDI loops in this dedicated version.

Also it is easier to change the number of channels used in polyMUX mode just by sending a MIDI Program Change number on the proper MIDI channel.

The firmware can be changed via our Exchange Portal:

Beware though that not all MIDI interfaces are suitable to upgrade the RK-002 firmware. You need an interface with MIDI Power and full MIDI System Exclusive support. Our RK-005 (also shown in this video USB Hosting both Keystep and Digitakt) is suitable for this."
