"Ok, ok. The name is juvenile and it's graphics are ... controversial. But it's sound is unique. It's character is unmistakable. This is a product that genuinely lives up to, and surpasses, it's hype.

This machine is not for the feint of heart. It's unruly and unpredictable. You can simply use it as a subtle processor for the buttery cream of the filter stage and plug an expression pedal or CV source in to sweep it (or let the envelop follower do the sweeping for you). But the 'Blaster shines when you unleash the tone generating noise oscillators and let 'er rip. It never sounds the same twice which is glorious.

This particular unit also has a custom flamed maple box. The original units came housed in a plastic lunchbox. I had previously cut the lid off of said lunchbox to create more space on my table top. But being a finish carpenter by trade I eventually built a box deserving of the electronics and finished it with three coats of clear satin polyurethane. The bottom of the new box has vent holes drilled to allow for air cooling, as recommended by the manufacturer Eric Barbour. I've used this unit lightly in my non smoking home studio. It's serial #95 and I believe only 100 total were ever made. Soon it will undoubtedly achieve collector's item status."

"The Microcon is a modern-day little analog monophonic synthesizer module emulating the simple design and sound of classic Roland TB-303 andSH-101 synths. They are made by Technosaurus, a Swiss company best known for their high-end Selector modular synths. It is hand made using the same discrete circuits found in its bigger brothers.

Laid out like a 1970s monosynth, the control panel offers six sections. The VCO is, as always, the first element in the main signal path, andin use proves to be remarkably stable. Furthermore, the discrete circuitry employed should prove to be future proof, unlike synths based on Curtis chips. There are four VCO controls and likethe TB303, the Microcon offers just square and sawtooth waveforms. However, unlike its Roland forebear, it also offers a sub octavesquare wave that you can mix with the standard VCO signal in anyamount from 0 100 percent. There is also a transpose switch ( 2octaves), and LFO driven pitch modulation.

"Fully analogue sequencer modulation pedal from this Greek synth manufacturer."

Update: Note the Ex in DREADBOEx. Anyone know if this was their original logo or is this a fake/clone? The Kappa 2 has the current Dreadbox logo.

Whats up to you:

200 Kits/pieces have to be sold to achieve this price. Share, share, share!
Soldering rotary encoders, potentiometers and connectors
Screwing stuff together, putting on knobs.
Sanding and oiling the wooden side pieces.
You need solder, a soldering iron and a variety of screw drivers.
No warranty, but our and community support on the build.

The Price
To make one controller costs about 500$. Only at a scale of 200 pieces can we lower the price to about half that. We would love to offer it even cheaper, but it is not possible without significant loss of quality. So many rotary knobs and encoders have their price, as well as the front panel, the circuit board etc. Nevertheless at about 4E per knob of this controller, it is not more expensive than other midi controllers..."

Intellijel Planar2 jam session #intellijel #planar2 #eurorack

"If you like my stuff please support me on http://music.ollilab.com/ and https://www.patreon.com/theBURG

A couple of weeks ago I finally received one of the long awaited modular for my control rack, the intellijel Planar2. This helps to almost complete the controller section that I have been planning for some time.

In this video i wanted to do a quick and simple patch, using only the planar2 as controller.. but after some noodling the MI Ears also got to play a simple part during the test.

Modulation patch notes:

- Planar X output to MI Braids Timbre IN
- Planar Y output to MI Braids Color IN
- Planar A Axis out to MI Ripples FREQ IN
- Planar B Axis out to to intellijel uVCF FM1 (freq) IN
- Planar C Axis out to MI Rings Damping IN
- Planar D Axis out to MI Rings Structure IN
- MI ears envelope out to Rings Strum IN

Sensititivy on MI Ears is half way through the video set to max so when tapping the Planar2 it triggers the strum input on MI Rings through the ENV out.

Audio patch notes:

- MI braids OUT -- Ripples LP4 -- uCVF HPF -- Quadratt mixer
- MI rings OUT ( odd ) -- Quadratt mixer
- Quadratt Mixer out -- Strymon ICE delay -- EQD transmisser
- 2 track recorder

I hope you can enjoy this little demo jam session :)
