Quad Octoginta II Yusynth Miscreant from Million Machine March 4 OSC Eurorack Module with Joystick

via Million Machine March

"Since the CEM3340 chip was put back into production, and after seeing what a few other makers have built with them, I decided it was time for me to come up with my own take on this ‘tried and true’ chip! I looked over the various designs on using the CEM3340’s and settled on the Octoginta II.

Now that the VCO’s were sorted and I was able to purchase the DIY PCB’s, I needed to choose a wavefolder design. I like what Yusynth did with Haible’s wavefolder and went with his design here.

The YuSynth design required me to make my own PCB’s. This can be a laborious process if you have not done it before. But I have the process down to a science here in the lab, so I was able to get these made pretty quickly. Taste the Sodium Persulfate in the air, aahhhhh!...

The inspiration for this build and using these particular chips is to try and satisfy my want for a Oberheim OB-Xa! Hopefully Behringer will be able to produce an affordable clone soon, but in the meantime…"

Novation Peak Videos by LuxDiaboli

Playlist:

1. Novation Peak new Wavetables
A look on the new wavetables on Novation Peak.
Zero effects (apart from minute 7.00)
One oscillator at 100% volume (at minute 7.00 I add a second OSC with sine wave at 70% volume).
Waveshaping on each wavetable and filter on some of them.
With the 1.2 update, they have made the Peak one of the best modern Polysynth, in my opinion. New LFOs, dedicate effect mod matrix with four slots and many other things, just WOW.
Enjoy!
(sorry for the crooked video)
2. Novation Peak Ambient Sequence
I made this chilling sequence to show how the modulation matrix of the Peak, with the right filter configuration, can change the sound we are making.
Yes, I’ve watched too many Knobs’ videos.
3. Strymon Volante with Novation Peak synthesizer
Some sequences made with Arturia Keystep and Novation Peak to show how beautiful is the Volante delay.
Enjoy :D

The history and future of Eurorack modular synths with Doepfer #TSR19

Published on Apr 18, 2019 DivKidVideo

"A rare moment of free time and having great people in the right place at the right time here's an interview with Felix of Tuesday Night Machines talking to Dieter Doepfer, THE CREATOR OF EURORACK at the Thomann Synth Reactor #TSR19 event.

Felix and I wanted to chat to Doepfer about both his history (the history or Eurorack), his current polyphonic modules, future module sand ideas and a quick look at what the future of the Eurorack might be.

We also talk about the Elektor Formant DIY synth, the new Frequency Shifter module coming later this year, CV controlled LED lighting, Dieter was also the EU distributor for Doug Curtis' Curtis chips/components, Raul's World of Synths, favourite Doepfer modules and plenty more."

Drumbrute Impact x Volca FM + Kick 01

Published on Apr 18, 2019 Oscillator Sink

"One of my favourite things about this past Jamuary is that it encouraged me to put together smaller set-ups and work quickly within that framework. So recently I brought together the Arturia Drumbrute Impact with the Korg Volca Kick and FM to recreate that vibe and recorded a couple of jams over a couple of days - this more up-tempo one was the first of the two.

Obviously the Drumbrute Impact is in charge of the drums, a little less obviously the Volca Kick is doing the bassline (no kicks here!) and the Volca FM is providing the top line using a patch generated by the Synthmata random patch generator and is going through the Digitech Polara Reverb on the way into the interface."

myVolts Ripcord - USB Power for Korg Volcas

via myVolts

"Ripcord turns 5V from a USB port into other voltages, like 9V and 12V, that gear needs, and liberates your creative process from batteries and wall sockets.

Ripcord can also protect against noise: the buzzes and hums caused by poorly-earthed mains electricity.
If you’re wondering which Ripcords you might need, and what devices it powers, we’ve got an extensive, constantly updated, Ripcord FAQ on our site that should answer any questions you have.

Any country, on stage, in the studio, outdoors: anywhere there’s a USB port – like your laptop, a phone charger, a USB power bank – you’re good to go.

Read on to find out about Ripcord, AND get 15% off your next myVolts order."

Volca Drum First Beat

Published on Apr 18, 2019 Jarkko Tuohimaa

"My first beat with brand new Korg Volca Drum. It's the one of the best devices on Volca range. Volca Kick is my favourite. You need to figure out some menus in it, but mostly it's really straight forward to use. Soundwise it reminds me Korg ER-1."
