Lament (Moog One)

Published on Jun 17, 2019 Andrea Pessino

"Demo of a simple but lyrical single layer patch created and played on a Moog One polyphonic synthesizer. No sequencing or tracking, only one sound played live, bit of 7th Heaven reverb.

Sequential In The Spotlight Interview with SACRE

You can find the interview on Sequential's website here.

"The phantasmagoric dance-pop duo, SACRE, is Hawaii and Sukil, who are full-circle creators — they write, sing, produce, and design everything for the project. SACRE burst onto the scene in 2018 with their debut EP, “The Call”. They quickly gained support from Billboard, The Line of Best Fit, Clash, Impose Magazine, Earmilk, and others, along with a cosign from Pharrell Williams. Due in December is their debut LP “Love Revolution,” in which each track tells the story of one of twelve characters over the course of 12 hours. The odyssey begins at 7:00pm, with Sukil bored at work, as an adventure unfolds and various characters emerge, including an arsonist stripper, an android gas attendant, and Hawaii and Sukil caught up in it all.

We chatted with Hawaii and Sukil on how they use the Prophet-6 in their music."

Playing the Sampler 2

"Another derisory effort where I've attempted to wrestle something musical out of the Sample and Hold routine of the Roland SH-3a, and confound the eye with unreformed 'teenager in his bedroom' video-fx."

Make Noise QMMG (Quad Multi Mode Gate) Eurorack Four Channle LPG VCA VCF

Published on Jun 17, 2019 Perfect Circuit

"The Make Noise QMMG is four channels of voltage controlled VCA/VCF combos which are controlled by vactrols. Vactrols are devices that convert and electrical signal to a light and then turn that light back into an electrical signal, this process gives the vactrol an organic decay sound when used as an envelope. The vactrol envelope sound was made famous by Buchla lowpass gates which combined a lowpass filter and a VCA controlled by a vactrol. The QMMG gets you lowpass gate sounds but also adds in feedback and highpass filter options as well as ways to make more complex sounds by routing multiple gates together in different modes.

"This beast is the perfect answer to kinder, gentler synths. This thing is nasty. Thick and pokey. Controls are insanely precise and the onboard spring reverb is to die for. You won’t want to miss this."
