"A Gibson/Viscount creation from 2000-2005, this synth has a unique, silvery quality, but doesn't really sound like an Oberheim. Aficionados love it for what it is, and this one is a great example of one."

Adding variation with random LFOs

Published on Aug 19, 2019 Modal Electronics

"With no or extremely low rate values, the random LFO will generate a new random number for each key trigger.

We can use this to add some subtle variation from note to note or to make each new note sound completely different from the last.

We have also modulated the filters cutoff frequency with the velocity of each note to add some further variation and assigned the waveshape of wave-2 to the mod wheel."

Synthetic jam w/ Elektron Analog Rytm MkII, Analog Four MkII, Monomachine MkII, Analog Heat MkII

Published on Aug 19, 2019 Jay Hosking

"A live, semi-improvised performance, all on hardware, and inspired by all the existential science fiction I've been reading/watching/playing/writing. Now that I'm digging into the Analog Rytm MkII a little more, I'm really enjoying how its performance mode and fill button can vary a song while playing live. And once again, the Monomachine serves multiple roles, this time as a beautiful and weird vocal synth, external audio processor of the Rytm, and drum machine.

Elektron Analog Rytm MkII — Sample playback/mangling, drums
Teenage Engineering OP-1 (not shown) — Two samples played from the Rytm (busy synth sequence, high flute)
Elektron Analog Four MkII + Elektron Analog Heat MkII — Four synth parts (bass, arp, melody, harmony)
Elektron Monomachine MkII — Vocal synth, External audio processing of Rytm, Drums

The OP-1 samples were written a bunch of months back, but otherwise the song was composed and arranged in the last couple of days. Performed entirely live and uploaded as is, with only a little compression/limiting on the master.

Odessa quick jam

Published on Aug 19, 2019 Xaoc Devices

"This is simple patch with final revision of Xaoc Devices Odessa. All three outputs of Odessa goes to three Xaoc Tallin VCAs in clean mode. VCAs are fed by simple AD envelope from Xaoc Zadar and mixed with Xaoc Praga. There is no additional filtering only some reverb. I've added drums in background just to make it more enjoyable to listen!"
