New Eurorack Modules from Bubblesound Instruments

Four new modules from bubblesound:

The HEXa(s)r envelope generator,
HEXvca (6 VCA module),
Booster Stage amplifier,
and Reducer de-amplifier.

Details follow for each. Bubblesound modules are available at Control, Perfect Circuit Audio, Signal Sounds, and other dealers listed on their website.

HEXa(s)r

The HEXa(s)r is a 9HP module with 6 independent AR/ASR envelope generators and 3 mixer sections for a total of 9 outputs, giving users a huge amount of modulation options with a very small footprint making this the most versatile and flexible envelope generator in the eurorack world. Plus it’s skiff friendly and light on power consumption.

Each envelope generator has a gate input and can either be an Attack/Release or Attack/Sustain/Release. In AR mode the incoming gate is turned into a trigger giving you a simple Attack and Release, perfect for drum synthesis and simple modulation or control over VCAs. In ASR mode the length of the Sustain is controlled by the length of the gate. This makes using an LFO’s modulated Pulse Width output or a sequencer with variable gate length perfect for creating envelopes with changing sustain times, breathing life and variation to whatever the HEXa(s)r is modulating. The LEDs are tied to the output to give users visual feedback on each EG.

The HEXa(s)r can use gates (0-8/10V) or a +-5V to trigger the envelopes. It can accept trigger inputs as well, but when using a trigger in ASR mode there will be almost no sustain as the duration of triggers is very short, usually around 5-10 milliseconds.

The Gates in of the HEXa(s)r are normalized so one gate into EG1 will trigger all 6 envelopes. Each envelope generator can then be set to either AR or ASR mode. OIr you can use the output of one EG to trigger another EG. This can be used to make a type of gate delay for individual outputs or complex rhythm or modulation effects from the Mix output section.

The Mixer section has 3 parts, EG 1-3, 4-6 and All. By using multiple gates and triggering some EGs from other EGs the mix out section can create some unexpected modulation options or very controlled rhythmic outputs. It all depends on what you put into it.

There is a header on the back and included 6 pin ribbon cable that will allow the HEXa(s)r to connect with the upcoming HEXvca without using patch cables.

Details:
6 independent EGs. Attack and Release times are around 4 seconds each
Normalized Gates
30MM deep, single PCB skiff friendly design
Output Level: 0-10V
Interconnectable via supplied ribbon cable to the HEXvca
Power Consumption: 50mA positive, 40mA negative
9HP

Sequential Pro 3 (Lorenz Rhode synth demos)

"Sound design for the upcoming @Sequential_llc Pro 3 synth! For the fourth time the team at Dave Smith Instruments / Sequential was so kind to let me get my hands on one of their prototypes and contribute some presets. The other machines being OB-6, Rev-2 and Prophet-X. One thing that's cool is that each preset *must* include a sequence - I always end up with a ton of little song sketches :)

So, here's a quick recording of the patches/sequences - a few are just variations, some a bit raw, but I hope you like."

Erica Synths Bassline DB-01 Sounds & Sequencer Demo

Published on Jan 29, 2020 Perfect Circuit

"The Erica Synths Bassline DB-01 is their newest desktop instrument—a bass synth that covers everything from intense drones and acid bass to percussion and more. Performed here by the instrument's designer Girts Ozolins, the Bassline DB-01 does everything from snarling drones to Berlin school-esque basslines. While it might look similar, this synth is far more than just a 303 clone.

The Bassline DB-01 prides itself on its ability to make intense, aggressive sounds. With an integrated overdrive, transistor-based suboscillator, noise source, and a BBD-based detune, its raw sound production can create huge tones—and when passed through the Polivoks-esque LP/BP filter, it can produce thumping bass, howling noise textures, and everything in between.

Bassline DB-01 includes an arpeggiator, 64-step sequencer, VCF cutoff automation, and plenty of internal modulation sources—breaking it out of the typical bass sequencer role and into vast new territory. Bassline DB-01 is expected to be available Spring of 2020.

Tiptop Audio - D'N'B

Published on Jan 29, 2020 Tiptop .Audio

"In this patch, there are two Circadian Rhythms.

The output of channel 1, on the first Circadian, controls the clock of the second Circadian, like a clock divider.

By changing the clock (bpm) in a track, we can switch the genre of music.

The second Circadian controls the Tiptop drum elements (BD909, HATS909, HATS808, SD909, SD808) the Z4000 envelopes, and the Z8000 cv sequencer that controls all the CV parameters.

The Tiptop Audio FX modules (ECHOZ, ZVERB, Z5000 and ZDSP), add delay and echoes, giving a sense of space.
Enjoy!"
