MFB SYNTH PRO /////// S T E R E O \\\\\\\

Published on Feb 11, 2020 LESINDES

"Checken the stereo capabilities of MFB SYNTH PRO. MFB 12 dB multimode filter panned to the left and SSM 24 dB LP panned to the right.

4 panning modes are available: Mono / Narrow / Wide / L-R -- I was using mostly the latter!

The first patch filters in serial mode , 2nd in parallel.

The audio is recorded straight out of the machine.

Sometime I add in also a bit internal reverb (s. knob 4 from top of the extreme right row)."

New Wicks Patchy, handmade synth from Rarebeasts

Published on Feb 10, 2020 Rarebeasts

"The Wicks Patchy is a tiny patch synth that lets you experiment with sound by connecting modules in different ways using small cables.

You can be super creative with this instrument as you get to choose how the modules are connected.

This synth has 3 modules, VCO, Gate and LFO that can be connected in hundreds of ways.
The 5 controls at the base of the unit can be connected to any of the module inputs. To get started all you have to do is connect the power via a USB plug and attach your speaker or headphones. Now just attach one of the 5 controls to the VCO input and you are making sound, change the sound by connecting the modules in different ways. Instruction are included giving details of all the connections."

Roland Fantom (Ver. 1.50) Focus on VOCODER (1 of 2) - Vocoding DRUMS!

Published on Feb 11, 2020 gattobus

"Here's a quick walkthorough on FANTOM Vocoder menu settings and a little trick on how to use VOCODER with the DRUM PART as modulator!
Imho, this is by far one of the best sounding vocoders I've ever heard in a synthesizer! :D"

Update:

Roland Fantom (Ver. 1.50) Focus on VOCODER (2 of 2) - "Doin' it right" - DAFT PUNK cover

Published on Feb 21, 2020 gattobus

"Here's the second video focus on Fantom's VOCODER (OS ver. 1.50 onwards)
A quick tutorial on how to replicate the vocoder voice of Daft Punk.
If you just want to hear the cover, you can skip at min 2:04
I recommend listening using a good pair of headphones.
(This song contains some very low frequencies it may not sound well in small speakers ;) )

Song's been sequenced using Fantom's internal sequencer.
Some vocals have been dubbed, others were sampled inside the Fantom and played in real time through the sequencer."

RolandJX-8P vs MKS-70 duel | Which one sounds best?

Published on Feb 10, 2020 Espen Kraft

"The MKS-70 is in fact two JX-8Ps stuck in a rack. It can be set up as a 12-voice 8P, split, dual, whole and unison mode.

But is the sound any DIFFERENT from a 8P, and which one sounds the "best"?

What do you think?

The Analogue Solutions Vostok 2020 Analogue Power Synth (song)

Published on Feb 10, 2020 rezfilter

"Take it up a notch!

Use headphones or studio monitors for the best listening experience!

Here's a multi-tracked track assembled using only the Vostok 2020's synth sounds. These sounds only scratch the surface of the Vostok's true modular architecture and capabilities. But, it was fun nonetheless. ;)

This track relied heavily on the Vostok 2020's two onboard sequencers (analogue and MIDI note sequencer) to create the modulated analogue sequences and rhythms you hear throughout. Individual Vostok tracks were laid down in Logic Pro.

The Vostok 2020 is a 3-oscillator Power Synth with a real spring reverb and an amazing pin matrix. It is also rack-mountable and includes the following features:

-MIDI note sequencer.
-MIDI to CV Converter with Velocity CV.
-3 Oscillators with Saw, Square, Pulse Width.
-Sub Oscillators.
-Ring Modulation.
-2 VC LFOs with Saw, reverse Saw, Square, Triangle.
-CV / Gate step sequencer.
-Moving coil signal meter.
-Joystick controller.
-2 Envelope generators each with repeat feature.
-White noise.
-Sample and hold.
-Unity gain mixer.
-Multi-mode VCF.
-VCA.
-Pin matrix!
-Spring Reverb (3 real springs!)
-Rear panel jack patch point.
-Optional rack mount.
-All analogue voice & modulation circuits

Enjoy!"

Sensel Morph with Arturia Piano and Audio Modeling SWAM flute and cello | Buchla & Fuge Machine

Published on Feb 7, 2020 Sensel

"Due to recent aesthetic complaints about our wild taste in sound, we decided to head to the conservatory and make some music rooted in tradition. Of course, we didn't give up on electronics, we just showed how expressive the Morph can be with acoustic sounds.

Using the @Audio Modeling SWAM flute and cello, and the @Arturia piano, we created a simple tune and bent the natural sounds these things are capable of. The Thunder overlay is sending MPE data to the cello and flute models (NOT samples!), using pressure and gesture to coax some beautiful sounds. Recorded in Bitwig Studio, and a touch of @Madrona Labs Aaltoverb on the flute.

Sensel Morph with Buchla Easel Command + Fugue Machine iPhone MIDI sequencing

Published on Jan 30, 2020 Sensel

"The Easel Command has all the wonderful sound of the Buchla Music Easel, but gives you modern inputs to integrate with the rest of your studio. There's an option to add a USB Host so you can plug your Sensel Morph directly into the synthesizer.

In this video, I have the iPhone app "Fugue Machine" sending MIDI out over USB to the Easel's USB MIDI port, and the Sensel Morph sending MIDI to the Easel's USB Host module. The Sensel Morph uses vertical gestures to control the Easel's "timbre" slider by sending MIDI CC1. The X or horizontal motions are sending pitchbend data. Finally, pressure is controlling the level of "level 2", set to low pass filter.
It makes for a very elegant setup and a vast universe of pure analog sound.

You may ask - why the drum pad overlay? Well, my Buchla Thunder Overlay was at the office, so I thought I'd try the drum pad. As you can see, it's still awesome.

SERPENS MODULAR || Introductory Ara Tutorial ||

Published on Feb 10, 2020 Serpens Modular

"This video is an overview of the Aras core functions and provides examples of basic patches. These will give users an understanding of the key features of the Ara and provide the foundations for more complex patching options that will be covered in future videos."

via Serpens Modular

"Sequential Switch / Sequencer / Voltage Source / Clock Divider

The Ara is a sequential switch on steroids that was designed by us with live performance in mind. At its core it is a 5 step unidirectional sequential switch, allowing users to cycle through 5 different incoming voltages on the slave i/o jacks and send them out in steps via the master i/o jack. It can also be used in reverse, with the master i/o jack becoming the input and the 5 slave i/o jacks becoming outputs for distributing one voltage source to up to 5 destinations in timed steps.

We then decided to take it further and integrate both a clock divider with secondary clock input for self patching and continuous voltage sliders on each step. These are output individually at the top of the module or passed through to the master i/o when no input is present on that step. The voltage range of the sliders can be adjusted to either 0 to 5v or -5 to +5v using the switch at the base of each channel. Without an incoming clock signal, the Ara works as a stand alone bank of 5 voltage faders.

Gate outs are both per step and as a summed output which can be used to trigger envelopes being fed into the Aras slave i/os. With no incoming inputs, voltage sliders and the gate outputs can be used to turn the Ara into a 5 step sequencer. Sequence length can be easily changed by patching a gate step into the reset jack. Any step that is excluded from the sequence then becomes a stand alone continuous voltage source.

Hand made in Melbourne, Australia. Orders ship every Friday afternoon.
