Nautilus Tutorial 1: Getting Started

video upload by Qu - Bit

"Nautilus is a complex delay network inspired by sub-nautical communications and their interaction with the environment. In essence, Nautilus is a stereo delay consisting of 8 unique delay lines which can be connected and synced in interesting ways. Each time Nautilus pings its sonar system, the generated topography reveals itself through the delay, all while staying in time with the internal or external clock. Complex feedback interactions plunge sounds to new depths, while related delay lines pull fragments of sound in different directions. Manipulate the delay lines even further by configuring the the stereo receptors, sonar frequencies, and aquatic materials that filter the space between Nautilus and its surroundings.

Though Nautilus is a delay effect at heart, it is also a CV/Gate generator. The Sonar Output creates either a unique Gate signal, or a unique CV signal algorithmically generated from Nautilus’s findings. Drive other parts of your patch with pings from the delay network, or use the generated topography as a modulation source.

From the deep ocean trenches, to shimmering tropical reefs, Nautilus is the ultimate exploratory delay network."

L 1 Digital Tuner

video upload by Aleksei Laman

"I show L-1 Digital Tuner module.
Also there L-1 Dual Discrete EQ/Resonator used as dual filter. I'm switching between filters modes - LP HP BP.
Also there used: L-1 Dual VC ADSR, L-1 Basic VCO, L-1 2-channel Discrete VC Stereo Mixer."

And one from 2015:

L-1 Digital Tuner. Eurorack synthesizer.

Some info via L 1

8HP Digital tuner shows notes in the range 10 octaves .

I don't just srewed a guitar tuner to an Eurorack panel. I modified the circuit, replaced some parts to have correct range. Now it shows notes in the range 10 octaves.

Two sources selectable with switch. Multiples to use a signal further.
A4 button Select A4 frequency in the range 430-450Hz.
ON button. If to hold the button 1 sec, turn the screen off/on. Momentary press select tunning item: Chromatic, Guitar, Bass, Violin, Ukulele. Default position is Chromatic. No need to change.
If no wave at the input or a wave is out of the range, screen will turn off in two minutes. If it happened just press ON button 1 sec to turn the screen on.
Power consumption: V+ 7mA, V- 0mA.

Only assmebled module. No kits.

Boards of Canada - Roygbiv Cover | Nord Drum 3P Sounds Only | + Novation Launchkey Mk3 & SoftStep 2

video upload by Jannis Le Wolff

"🥁Interested in using those sounds yourself? I just released my first custom sound bank for the Nord Drum 3P, containing the sounds from this video and many others. You can find it here (including previews): https://bsta.rs/515ad0173

You can get 20% off until November 15th by using this Code: THANKYOUENJOY

Also note that all sounds are available as wav files as well, so you can use them even without owning a Nord Drum 3P.

---------

In this video I'm playing Roygbiv from Boards of Canada while only using sounds from the Nord Drum 3P. I used some effects inside my DAW though and also mixed it in the end, applying some EQ and compression.

The whole set is organized in Ableton Live, and I'm also using the Novation Launchkey Mk3 for playing the final synth line and some clip triggering. Intentionally I wanted to play all sounds by "drumming", but the melody had too many variations and notes so it became too complex. As a foot controller I'm using the Keith McMillen Softstep 2. A very fun thing I discovered here was to change the pitch of a pad with a foot controller. This way I could "drum" the bassline, which has 8 different pitches.

I always loved this song and bassline, and I was curious how well it works with the Nord Drum 3P. I really like how the bass sounds in the lower tones, while it gets a little less fat when moving up in terms of the notes you play."

Endorphines #Ghost | Firmware 1.03B & more patch examples

video upload by Cinematic Laboratory

"Just after I finished my Ghost video Endorphines sent me a last minute beta firmware. It's now available on the website and I think it's worth installing. They're just minor changes, nothing to worry about when you don't want to go through the trouble of playing .WAV files into the module. In short:

There's 100% unity gain when you hold ROUTING and turn Tone all the way CCW, and 10x digital gain when you turn it fully CW.
There's make-up gain added when you turn the compressor up (so your volume drop will be compensated).
The Big Knob now better recovers from internal filter changes made by CV.
I think the delay line syncs faster.
The reverb is made more 'lush' with internal LFO changes

I've also been intrigued by Ivan's rumbling kick video (parallel sidechaining) that was just released and the cool side effects of feeding audio rate signals to the sidechain trigger input. I finished this video with an 'acid techno' patch that only involves the Queen of Pentacles mighty kick, Ghost, and some CV. Sweet!

Shakmat Modular SUMDIF / playthrough / more than a mid side processor

video upload by BRiES

"In this video I take a closer look at the functionality of SUMDIF by Shakmat Modular. SUMDIF is only 2HP wide and can be used for a lot of things: inverter, averager, buffered multiple, precision adder, mid/side processor, ... .

Besides showing how you can create interesting modulation signals, I walk you through a patch to make supersaws with sumdif (and a comparator) as well. I also demonstrate and explain how mid/side processing works, how to use SUMDIF as a mult and a precision adder. I haven't recorded an example of using SUMDIF as an averager, but just know that it's possible using the A+B outputs (with the jumpers on the back added for a 6dB gain cut)."

Sbranvlztronics Low Frequency Oscillator Sync Test - Analog LFO with Reset on Breadboard

video upload by Unrelated Activities

"Testing a LFO with a synchronization circuit. The idea is to force the LFO triangle wave output to immediately go to zero volt when receiving a positive gate or trigger at a Sync input. When the gate or trigger at the Sync input returns to zero, the triangle wave output must then always restart with an upward ramp. On this breadboard the reset circuit was implemented with a CMOS analog switch, and the sync control is just a wire to activate it."
