"We recently acquired Patrick Cowley’s Sequential Pro-One. We meticulously refurbished it just like we refurbish all the similar vintage synths we sell on our website. We also added the MTG turbo CPU update and MIDI retrofit. We didn’t want to drill holes in the back panel, so we ran an Ethernet cable out of the cable slot in the back to plug into a small external midi connector box. This instrument is now part of the incomparable collection of gear at The Synth Sanctuary electronic music studio in NYC. Track programmed by @jaywires (who you should follow), who will be recording a lot with this classic instrument in January of 2023, if all goes as planned. Yamaha Rm1x electro house polyrhythm froschkonzert

"Track: Froschkonzert. For this 1999 style electronic house track I took the Yamaha Rm1x out of my setup - back to the roots with nothing else but the blue box and a midi controller/keyboard (must have because of the velocity control). You hear internal sounds only with a bit of multi-compression in post. I used a lot of the internal effects and filters to shape the sounds. For the polyrhythm stuff I used the on board midi delay with some timing offset. My son (7 years) was helping with some nice artwork for this video."

TEMPO DI ROMA

"TEMPO DI ROMA offers a unique combination of sequencing, programming, switching and logic, that brings Paperface to a new level. The classic GATE sequencer is no longer alone - two 4-step programmers that are also sequencers (with HOLD, RESET, UP/DOWN) can be run independently. Serge's new metronomic Clock is a precise, temperature-stable analog tempo source that can bring any of these sequencers to life. Three Bi-Directional Switches allow complex combinations of the Sequencers (or even audio signals). The bottom switch is special: it includes a Flip-Flop so that with the first trigger, the Switch is turned ON (and stays ON), until another trigger turns it OFF again. An additional FLOP output is also added. Last not least the panel contains a PEAK&TROUGH section. With logic signals, PEAK (max function) acts like an boolean OR, TROUGH (min function) like a boolean AND. However, PEAK&TROUGH can also be used with audio signals or CV.

"Arturia have added a new plugin to their filter collection: MS-20. It is taken from the quite recent MS-20 synth emulation. The plugin has High and Low Pass Filters, Distortion, and modulations. In this video, I pass Minifreak (with my recent pad/strings/drone presets) through the filter, and get new warm, noisy, rhythmical timbres.
