Industrial Track From Scratch on the Holy Trinity of Elektron

video upload by EZBOT

"In this stream, we use the Digitakt, Digitone, and especially the Syntakt by Elektron to make something evil and delicious from scratch. Accompanying these tyrannical devices will be the Elektron Octatrack loaded with my newest Performance Mixer template.

I love teaching the Elektron workflow (among other gear) so please don't hesitate to step up your game with 1-on-1 online lessons, plus you get to keep an HD recording afterwards. It's a load of fun: https://ezbot.live

Chugga Chugga Perk Perk

video upload by Richard DeHove

"What a stupid title. It's a combination of the Chug pedal used on the synths (DB-01 then the Behringer Cat) as well as the Perkons doing drums. The title coulkd have been more useful but then I'm beginning to suspect my dry and useful titles make absolutely no difference to anyone or any metric.
This piece started as a dull test of whether a DI box made any difference to the performance of the Chug pedal. It did - it made it worse. Then I just started noodling with the pedal to see whether I could coax some different sounds out of it. Couldn't do that either. It sounds good but it only has one way it grates the audio.
So then I thought I'd better add some drums so the Perkons got it's first run. It's so huge I have to work out a way to get multiple items in frame without everything looking tiny.
Against my usual policy I added some effects on the Perkons (but not on the synths) in the DAW. The Perkons got a little EQ to take out some of the massive bottom end, a little Fabfilter Saturn to dirty it up and a touch of Pro-R reverb. I wasn't using individual outs so it just got slathered over everything. A few gratuitous samples to finish.

Burnett and Twin Peaks - San Francisco (A drive with original music)

video upload by CatSynth TV

"We pick up where we left off on last week's ride on O'Shaughnessy Boulveard and continue deep into the windy hilly residential streets of the Twin Peaks neighborhood. Burnett Avenue winds its way along the eastern side of the hills banked by idiosyncratic apartment buildings along the steep hillside - we then turn onto Twin Peeks Boulevard heading downward with views up to Sutro Tower and out towards the downtown skyline.

This area was developed later than other parts of San Francisco, so the streets and buildings were laid out to reflect the contour of the hillside rather than in opposition to it (as seen in the many classic straight roads with sharp grades in the northeastern part of the city).

Twin Peaks Boulevard south of the intersection with Burnett is closed to vehicle traffic but can be accessed via bicycle and foot to reach the summit of the hills.

Original music by Amanda Chaudhary, featuring the following instruments:
Arturia ARP 2600 V and Wurli V
Cherry Audio GX-80 and Stardust 201
Strymon Starlab
EastWest Stormdrum 3 and Ministry of Rock 2

If you haven't yet watched our video on O'Shaughnessy Blvd, we recommend checking it out here:" [posted here]

TRIPLE CROSS: How to create Circular/3D Panning effect with this Eurorack Stereo Cross-fader module

video upload by AJH Synth Official

"The new Triple Cross module from AJH Synth & Tone Science is a 3-channel stereo cross-fader/panner, fully voltage controlled, and able to be used for a plethora of different audio or CV duties. Here it is being used to achieve a dual VCA, stereo panning and cross-fading simultaneously, alternately raising and lowering the volume of 1 or 2 incoming audio signals, whilst moving them between left and right outputs. This can be used to create a 3D impression a sound that is moving in a circular motion.
This might more often be useful for creating momentary effects, and could be especially interesting for ambient drones, but here I demonstrate it using a sequencer, and eventually 2 melodic synth voices playing different patterns. An important element in this patch is the modulation - I use the Dual LFO +VCA module to create a quadrature triangle LFO, so I have 2 triangle waves running at the same speed, but at a 25%/1 quadrant difference in their duty cycle. Here it's achieved by using the square wave of one LFO to sync the other.
For more ideas of what the Triple Cross module can do check out this video:

The AJH SYNTH Eurorack range consists of high-end modules, all hand-made in the UK, most of which are based on classic, vintage designs, authentically recreating the circuitry of much sought-after analogue instruments and technologies of the past, whilst greatly expanding them, and bringing them to modern Eurorack levels of convenience, limitless flexibility, and reliability.

Check out the AJH Synth playlists for module 'User Guides', and 'Patch of The Week' videos, which will be either performances or 'how to' guides, detailing functions/methods, and a range of sounds, some familiar, some less so, containing a patch sheet at the end to show you how to construct it for yourself.

Like a Science Lab Overtaken by the Horrors of the Cosmos | Make Noise Spectraphon

video upload by HAINBACH

"Make Noise asked me to demo their new collaboration with Tom Erbe, the soundhack Spectraphon. To properly explore it I asked them if they could adapt their beautiful Tape and Microsound system around it. In this video I explore this "Spectral Sound System" on its own, with other synthesizers, samples and field recordings. I find it adds a unique texture to sound which reminds me of John Chowning's works, the alien worlds of early DSP."
